The number of women, black, Asian and Latino officials elected this year reached an all-time high. Activists around the country young and old, reformers and radicals are now trying to figure out not only how to fight Trump and Trumpism, but also how to think strategically about building a powerful progressive movement based on action and informed by past and recent activism. Progressives should expect the unexpected, be agile and flexible and invest in rebuilding progressive organizations capacity.
So here is my 10-point to do list for fighting for working people.
1. Dont forget: Trump does not have a mandate.

“April 23 is fire a Social Justice Warrior day”
Not a lot of people work on Sunday. Whoever started this should move it a day.
And giant puppets. Get those giant puppets ready for your next parade about the issues that mainstream America is most concerned about. We’re all waiting for your orders on how to address the 0.0001% of the population that are militant transgenders.
What's the over-under on what percent of these goofs will end up stabbing themselves while trying to put the pin on?
Before you pick a low number, consider that most of them will be giddy with excitement as they put the pin on.
Gee, a communist in a phony baloney department in a phony baloney "University" in Los Angeles. Who would have guessed that?
(p.s., Barky attended there for two years before transferring to Columbia)

Cancer is progressive. That don’t make it good. islam is progressive, until everyone is dead. Inbred and mush brained leftists need genetic control and kept out of running an honest society.
“You Cant fix Stupid.”
IMV, evil.
Stupid wouldn’t be as bad.
“Peter Dreier is professor of politics and chair of the Urban & Environmental Policy Department at Occidental College.”
Interesting. He must have taught The Marxist in Chief a few things back in his heady days at Occidental. But, alas, no records. So we’ll never know.
Ricky Bobby,,,
Shake and Bake!
“Working people? Kinda limited for liberals.”
Only certain kinds of working people count. People work their butts off in Oklahoma, for example, but Leftists hate them anyway. Sorry, too far from the ocean, wrong part of the country! /s;)
only nine comments at salon, which indicates almost no one managed to slog through such nonsense and/or felt it unworthy of the time to comment pro or con: in other words, click bait that didn’t work.
“This makes me want to set up a fake progressive organization just to bilk these morons out of millions.”
Wow! That is a GREAT idea! Easy enough to make a gofundme page that purports to implement (or maybe just study) Robert Reich’s and Salon’s plans but has enough weasel words that no action is actually promised.
“I would post something about Robert Reich being a mental midget, but then I liked the MG Midget so maybe that would be bad.”
good idea; you wouldn’t want to get things like that so mixed up that Karma might get Konfused.
“Oprah Winfrey is doing a Weight Watchers commercial. What? Couldnt they find a skinny woman for that? WW isnt going to be selling much product going forward - apparently it doesnt work.”
Reminds me of the old joke that you can easily see that diet sodas don’t work because you always see fat chicks drinking them.
The appropriately named “Dry, Peter” is clearly an emotionally unstable “wannabe” man. Instead, from his words and his thoughts he comes across as an emotionally unstable young girl, afraid beyond rational thought of the world’s challenges he must — MUST — face.
I guess they’ll be ‘watching’ Oprah’s ‘weight’
Isn’t she a fat sow racist?
>>>Isnt she a fat sow racist?<<<
. . . on a diet! heh heh.
The commercial is a real hoot!
She owns WW. She bought it sometime this past year or so.
