President Obama used his final weekly address in 2016 to assure Americans that he will remain committed to defending the "progress" made by his administration after handing over the White House to Donald Trump on Jan. 20.

While the president initially indicated that he looked forward to a quiet retirement, at a time when many polls showed Democrat Hillary Clinton marching to victory in the presidential election, Obama has said his plans have changed since Trump ran away with the win.
"I promise you that next year Michelle and I are going to be right there with you, and the clouds are going to start parting and the sun is going to come back out, and we're going to be busy, involved in the amazing stuff that we've been doing all these years before," Obama told told supporters in late November. Obama also revealed then that his family plans to stick around Washington, D.C., for a few years while his younger daughter, Sasha, finishes high school.
Touting strides made in expanding health insurance coverage, job creation, bringing troops back to the U.S. from Afghanistan and Iraq, and killing al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, Obama said Saturday that the country has "made extraordinary progress as a country these past eight years."
The president said income is rising, poverty is falling and the auto industry is "resurgent." Turning to diplomacy, Obama said, "We shut down Iran's nuclear weapons program, opened up a new chapter with the people of Cuba, and brought nearly 200 nations together around a climate agreement that could save this planet for our kids." He also gave a nod to the 2015 Supreme Court ruling to grant nationwide marriage equality.

Is that how long it normally takes for a POS to dry up and blow away?!?
“defend the progress” translated: “defend the regress” his regressive policies have blighted the people of the world with.
And I don’t think Putin is done with him. He’ll be looking over his shoulder for a long time. Maybe a drone, in the form of a pigeon, will poop plutonium on him!
Well Barry, you don’t have to go home. But January 20 is closing time and you can’t stay in the White House.
he has singlehandedly destroyed the democrat party and he wants to hang around? Lol this will be good
“Progressive” is very close, by itself, to being a mental disorder.
Cancer is progressive.
He is under the delusion that Americans need him like a father figure.
Personally I think what Trump needs to do is have his people pour over Obama’s records with a fine tooth comb. Find some wrongdoing, because there certainly is some and then send Obama the message, “You either shut up, get out of my way, and retire to quiet secluded life like ex-presidents are suppose to do, or face prosecution for “X”.”
Obama will try his stupid shtick for a while, commenting on Trump. Probably roll out some asinine "Office of the Former President" shield to tape to his podium.
Then Trump will smack him down HARD. The skinny little SOB won't be used to someone treating him this way, and the drive-bys will be shocked, but that won't stop the new President. Ex-president Stompy-foot may try a couple more times, and Trump will smack back twice as hard. Eventually even Obozo will get it between his floppy ears that it's a losing proposition, stop and probably slink back to Chi-town with his tail between his legs.
That halfsy POS will be the next UN sec general...hope we can shut that Global organization down, or the entire world will end up a “third world country”.
The president reportedly told CNNs David Axelrod during an interview for his podcast that he will be quiet for a while. And I dont mean politically, I mean internally. I have to still myself.
Well he can hang around in D.C. and watch Pre. Trump reverse what he has done! Liberals never look ahead to see what might come of their policies!
He exists in an evil dream world that is his paradise.
Make BO Secretary General of the United Nations. Move the UN to Mogadishu. Two problems solved!
Pretty simple way to handle any of his criticism and whining: “why didn’t you do anything to fix these problems during your 8 years in power? You had your chance and you blew it.”
The Sec General of the UN just stepped down is this to make room for Zero?
By charter, the Sec General cannot come from any of the five permanent members of the Security Council.
and Russia would VETO his ass out of the running anyway
:0) How wryly ironic! One would hope that an erstwhile 'father figure' first would want to know who his own father was.................
