(Download Link to entire article) The charter school deception is rooted in the shared beliefs of its founders. Corporate titans like the Walmart-creating Walton family, Bill Gates, and other very wealthy individuals have collectively spent billions seeding and sustaining this movement until states and the federal government passed laws and regulations sanctioning and subsidizing charter schools.

You are just a bit bigoted. Until you meet with every teacher, I’d say you are jumping to conclusions, plainting with a broad brush, and so on...

You are, simply put, a bigot. Until you talk with every single teacher, you are painting with a broad brush. You are just as bad as any of the leftists, with just a different misbegotten cause.

While a lot of what you say is true, individual teachers can do much as they please in their own classroom and grade book. I had to jump though some hoops and provide the answers they were expecting on their tests; however, I govern my class as I please.
Of course, this is my first year of teaching following a 46 career in electronics and firmware instrumentation. The admins don't understand what I am teaching, and that in itself is a blessing. So far, they are funding my lab very generously.
People on this thread are painting educators with a broad brush. You'd be surprised how many teachers merely pretend to pay attention to the weird stuff from on high. Those folks counsel me regarding "admin handling".

Teachers pursue the big money pot of public taxes. You surly aren't working from an actual knowledge base. Teacher pay is pretty poor. I make $28 a day.

Ah, I see you are "in there". Only halfway through my first year of teaching, everything you said is simply the way it really happens.
There are a lot of bigots on this thread, just on the "right" side of the balance point.

I don’t need to talk to every teacher to know that 90+_% of them are liberal pukes that care about nothing but themselves.

Sure you make $28 a day.
Oops, forgot to mention the mega dollar pension of other people’s money funding a lavish early retirement. Check out RV parks.
Lies. The money is in hidden benefits.
A study of the children would show a high degree of dismal life failure. How many homeless are the result of public teachers? Poor results, high pay.

“bigoted”
You are a name caller. You cannot hide it. It defines you. It is your give away.
You chose ‘power over children’ because adult interaction is too challenging. Children do not respond back intelligently, so they are easy victims.
You chase the ill gotten pot of gold because children are easy victims. Free the children.

I chose to teach one class each day so that 25 students can learn digital electronics and microprocessor embedded software. I'm retired from my engineering job and enjoy working with my wonderful students; and, that is preferable to sitting idle at home. I also contribute free time mentoring the FIRST Robotics club. I have taught the kids machine shop, mechanical and pneumatic design, as well as programming for motion control.
Since I am working with a provisional certification and teach only one class each day and only have a BS degree, I get paid what I posted.
Some people teach because it is the right thing to do.
You call people names by inference, which is just the same. I am many things, but not a bigot like yourself.

I assure you, my posted income from this is quite truthful. I will not stay with them it such is the case next year.
Teacher salaries are surprisingly low, a real shock when compared to what I made as a senior embedded software engineer.
Using a single attitude for all teachers is precisely the same a racial bigotry. Think deeply.

You are fabricating, in addition to name calling.
The comments never mentioned 'single' nor 'all'. That is your addition. English and language have forms of indefinite, definite, and various gradations. You fabricate in your own mind, what others have not said, create a straw man, and attack the straw man, then finish with ad hominem. An argument says what is says, nothing more, nothing less.
It amazes me how inaccurate the human mind often is. And I am not attacking you personally, it happens nearly always with regular people. I have always wondered if a solution exists and how it could be taught.
Engineers require precision. Language only says what it says. That part, though, is my pet peeve.
