Pardon the interruption: Clinton allegation may force Obama to act; Clinton to admit
The Hill ^ | December 27, 2016 | David Weisberg

Posted on 12/27/2016 12:14:32 PM PST by McGruff

Executive orders barring offshore drilling in most U.S. Arctic waters; an abstention at the U.N. permitting the Security Council to declare all Israeli settlement activity to be illegal and an obstacle to peace; the possibility of further action at the U.N. to formalize the administration’s comprehensive vision of a two-state solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict—Pres. Obama is sprinting, not jogging, to the finish-line.

In dashing through his last few weeks in office, will one of Pres. Obama’s final acts be to pardon Hillary Clinton for any violations of federal law she might have committed while she was secretary of state?

Zero is still searching for non-existent divisions that are supposed to rescue him from his underground bunker.

“President Obama? My name is Colombo. I’m new to your press corps. Wishing you a wonderful last few weeks as the Leader of the Free World. Oh. One last question for you. Why can’t you pass the e-Verify test? “

Thanks everyone. I was mistaken. Ford pardoned Nixon. Obama can pardon Old Hill.

>>Nixon was formally accused by congress of obstruction.<<

Not even close to true.

Nixon was never impeached.

The Congressional Committee had an indictment drawn up and had already indicted nearly everyone else involved. The bargain was that they'd not indict if he left office. Ford pardoned him so an existing, known, prepared, legally valid, indictment would be void on presentation if anyone went back on their word.

If someone had the balls to draw up a legally acceptable indictment and have a judge they knew would sign it they could and could have done a lot of things to and about Hillary no one is going to do. One of those things no one is pardoning Hillary without so much as a pending indictment because a Pardon isn't a "Get Out of Jail Free" card, it's a pardon for crimes someone has committed and has been legally convicted of committing or has been indicted for and is awaiting the official charges, or charged with and awaiting trial.

If pardoned, there's no way the pardon would stand up to an indictment brought based on any investigation in the future. Hillary would have plenty of BS about it and the media would argue and blow smoke, but unlike Nixon, she isn't one signature away from an indictment for Federal crimes with a crew of prosecutors anxious to bring the charges and go to trial. Nor has she been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in almost all of the 69 indictments for Federal crimes that are being or have been prosecuted.

Unless Lynch at least indicts Hillary for something first, a Pardon would be worthless. Ford just ensured that the democrats couldn't reneg on their plea bargain, that's all. With Hillary, there hasn't been squat to plea bargain.

Let Barry pardon her, it'll just dig the hole deeper for both Barry and Hillary if he does.

Adding anyone other than Obama makes the whole idea meaningless as well as stupid.

If one day it is found out that Obama never had enough citizenship to run for President, let alone be one, his Hillary pardon will also not stand.

>>If obama pardons hillary can the trump admin still prosecute her?<<

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

No — but Obama is not going to pardon the Clinton Foundation or guarantee the Crooks get to keep all their money.

I hope that regardless of whether he prosecutes, Trump goes after every last ill-begotten dime.

and without ever accepting guilt for anything ...And never actually being charged with a high crime OR misdemeanor. His worst crime was convicting Alger Hiss. Never forgiven by the Marxists.

A president can pardon anyone, even if charges have never been presented. But, accepting a pardon is essentially admitting guilt, at least, that is what most people would see it as.

It doesn’t matter. They can still investigate her whether she’s been pardoned or not.

And that is exactly what needs to occur.

The American people need to know the truth and depth of their corruption. That way it's even easier bury their political careers along with their loser legacies.

If she escapes jail I would be happy with her being penniless.

She might lose her fortune but she will never be penniless.

“Nixon was never impeached.”

I never said he was. What I said was Nixon was formally accused by congress of Obstruction of Justice. That’s a crime. Ford pardoned Nixon for it.

I don’t think you can get a pardon until you’e actually been convicted, or at least indicted, but I could be wrong.

That's what I heard as well. Hopefully someone will settle this issue for us.

Comey was brilliant. By not indicting or accusing Clinton of a crime, Obama cannot pardon her. Basically, since no one ever formally accused the Clinton’s of a crime, under Trump, they can formally be brought up on charges that cannot be pardoned by anyone but Trump.

Obama cannot pardon Clinton because there are no legal grounds to do so. But do not be surprised if the MSM creates a fake narrative which Obama uses to pardon Clinton.

The only way Congress can formally accuse a President is by impeachment.

FYI, impeachment is the INDICTMENT, not the conviction.
