France must exit Europe and the Eurozone, along with the other countries in the European south - Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus - and Ireland, French far-right leader Marine Le Pen said in an interview due to be published in the Sunday edition of the Greek newspaper "Dimokratia".
"Frexit is a part of my policy," the head of France's National Front party said, adding that "ideally all these countries should leave on the same day as France and I will try to push in that direction."
People should have the opportunity to vote for their freedom from the slavery and blackmail imposed by the Brussels technocrats and to return to national sovereignty within their countries, Le Pen said. "The British understood this and voted to leave the European Union while, of course, they never replaced the pound with the euro," the French presidential candidate said.
"Wherever the euro went, there was an increase in prices, taxes and unemployment, a reduction of wages and pensions and citizens became poorer. In Britain, when the economic crisis started, they proceeded to devalue the pound and economic growth soon resumed," she pointed out.
Le Pen said her goals for the EU to become a "loose confederation of states with respect for national sovereignty" and she called for the outright abolition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). "Wherever the IMF went, it asked for cuts in wages and pensions, higher taxes, privatisation of public utilities and caused an impoverishment of populations. The IMF prevents all growth," she said.
If elected president of France, Le Pen said that she would pull the country out of NATO since "it is not needed any more." She noted that NATO was founded to safeguard against the danger of the Warsaw Pact and the expansionism of the Communist Soviet Union, neither of which existed any more.
"Washington keeps NATO in existence to serve its goals in Europe," she added.
On Turkey, Le Pen said she did not agree with Turkey becoming a full member of the EU and that she supported a "special, privileged relationship with Turkey." She expressed opposition to policies that "promote and encourage the entrance of migrants into Europe, which cannot accept them."
"This tsunami of migrants must be contained. Europe is not able to give them work and opportunities to get rich. The migrants and illegal the minute they set foot on European soil because they have broken the law. They should be sent back to their countries," she said. Questioned about her party's relations with the Greek extreme-right party Golden Dawn, Le Pen said that "we neither have any nor want them."
Dear itsahoot,
I know of that pawn shop well, and also the loss of the VERY bearded One.
The .357 Magnum, as said by oldtimer Bill Jordan, thought that that revolver was a godsend.
Now, when i made the 9mm/1911 quote,Ii was NOT talking the average American citizen, although with the Luger P-08 coming on the scene, sort of dictated what the average European might use, if not a ‘mouse gun’ in 7.65 (PPK), or anything in ‘9mm short’ (.380).
I watched them melt an AR in full auto also a 9mm Clock.
Everything is subjective I guess, a 45 cal that I miss with 90% of the time is not really a better option than a 32 I hit with 90% of the time. 😄
Of course just the appearance of the bigger gun might deter most.
Dear itsahoot,
One more variable, besides handgun size/caliber ...
Indoors or outdoors and ‘our’ ears vs. ‘their’s ears.
( I guess that is ‘two’ more items.)
Yep a silly 25 produces more than enough noise for my ears, outside.
The biggest hand gun I own now is a 9 mm. Ammo is almost reasonable.
When I was a kid we were night hunting for rabbits driving along hedge rows after a snow and one of dad's friends discharged a 12 gauge in the car, shot right through the roof. Couldn't hear for a couple days. I guess I should have been glad that he wasn't using my uncles 8 gauge. :)
We were not hunting for sport, but for food, this was in the middle 40's.
I sold my BHP 9mm’s, since they are currently categorized as ‘military ammunition capable’ by some dunderhead bureaucrat with a ‘hat-on’ for guns of any type.
I am quite comfortable with a nice snubby, in a revolver-only chambering.
Got one of those too. Light weight frame 38 special.

I carry the standard 22-ounce-ish one. It is ‘642-ish’ in design. I do regret, when they were available, not getting it’s 438/638-ish brother! (whale sound)
Since plainclothesmen have employed them since the 1950’s, I do support the use of non-plus-p full flatface non-hp lead wadcutters. You can buy them anywhere, still 50 in a box for the price of 20 in a box that ‘might’ do as advertised.
