Trump to inherit more than 100 court vacancies, plans to reshape judiciary
Washington Post ^ | Dec. 25, 2016 | By Philip Rucker and Robert Barnes

Donald Trump is set to inherit an uncommon number of vacancies in the federal courts in addition to the open Supreme Court seat, giving the president-elect a monumental opportunity to reshape the judiciary after taking office.

The estimated 103 judicial vacancies that President Obama is expected to hand over to Trump in the Jan. 20 transition of power is nearly double the 54 openings Obama found eight years ago following George W. Bush’s presidency.

Confirmation of Obama’s judicial nominees slowed to a crawl after Republicans took control of the Senate in 2015. Obama White House officials blame Senate Republicans for what they characterize as an unprecedented level of obstruction in blocking the Democratic president’s court picks.

The result is a multitude of openings throughout the federal circuit and district courts that will allow the new Republican president to quickly make a wide array of lifetime appointments.

More good news.

This is exactly what we need so Trump can nominate judges who rule by the laws.

“Obama White House officials blame Senate Republicans for what they characterize as an unprecedented level of obstruction in blocking the Democratic president’s court picks.”

Whereas other people highly praise Senate Republicans for what they certainly hoped would be an unprecedented level of obstruction in blocking the muzzie traitor resident’s court picks.

It may or may not be true. It could all be fake news, to try to hurt Trump, as we have seen a lot already.

The guy is being honorable and resigns, so they can’t use him to try to hurt Trump.

Wow! Who would believe it? A Washington Post story that actually contains some real news.

The judiciary needs to be cleaned out with a high-pressure hose.

Who cares indeed.

With the spate of fake news, they may just think it matters so they’re throwing it out there.

They still don’t understand that few people think like me they do. Still. I saw CNN for a few minutes today and they’re still pushing crap, one side only. They really don’t see it. It’ll be someone who sees it will get rich fixing media.

Can they be installed by a simple Senate majority, thanks to Dirty Harry? Or can the Dims filibuster them for being faithful to the Constituttion?

Something appears to have happened between these Miller and Ms Delgado.

Reading between the lines, these two appear to have had an affair during the campaign season. Perhaps he is her baby daddy.

As I understand it, the nuclear option invoked by Harry Reid applies to all pres nominees except Supreme Court.

So all of these lower court nominees should be easily approved since the filibuster is gone for them.

Expect a huge battle led by Chuck Schumer over the nominee for Scalia’s Supreme Court seat. This could be where the Democrats filibuster.

“... Can they be installed by a simple Senate majority..being faithful to the Constitution? ...”
-
There is nothing in the constitution regarding a filibuster
or a requirement for a 60 vote cloture vote in the senate.
Those things are simply rules and traditions of the senate.
That is why the constitution authorizes the vice president to break a tie vote.
