Why the white working class votes against itself
Washington Post ^ | December 22, 2016 | Catherine Rampell

Posted on 12/24/2016 6:24:59 AM PST by C19fan

Why did all those Economically Anxious™ Trump voters reject policies that would have helped relieve their economic anxiety? Maybe they believed any Big Government expansions would disproportionately go to the “wrong” kinds of people — that is, people unlike themselves. Hillary Clinton’s unexpected loss, particularly in traditionally blue strongholds, has led to lots of rumination about what the Democrats must do to reclaim their political territory. Smarter marketing, smoother organization, greater outreach and fresher faces are among the most commonly cited remedies.

Hey Dems, keep up with the ideas liberals have for you on why you lost. I think you’ll do great in 2018, by losing for House seats and Senate seats, especially if you have the AntiAmerican Muslim fag as head, or is that beheader, of the DNC.

By the way, Dems, Merry CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year. You can go hide in your mom’s basement.

Memo to the DNC Media. The white working class isn’t voting against itself. It is voting against you.

Better question: Why does anyone still read the Washington Post???? These days it seems to offer nothing but fake news and partisan rants.

Why did so much of the white working class vote against itself in 2008 and 2012? At least many of these people came to their senses this time. Perhaps the WaPo thinks they should have continued to vote for the corrupt establishment until all their jobs had been exported overseas and all their wages undercut. The misleading propaganda of the press isn’t as effective anymore, but they do keep trying.

Seems the only book liberals every read (outside of college) was something about ‘What's the matter with Kansas’.

So to Catherine Rampell - and all the other liberals who write on the hackneyed overly done stupid concept I will tell them what they want to hear, “We're all so stupid out here in flyover that we don't “get” the brilliance of our ‘betters’ the liberals who are so superior in every way - people who know what's best for us even when we're too stupid to know what's best for us...’ There, does that work for you Catherine Rampell and the lame brain one desk over? I'm embarrassed for you Catherine... you miss the obvious - and you're hopelessly shallow.

“Smarter marketing, smoother organization, greater outreach and fresher faces are among the most commonly cited remedies.”

In other words, the same crappy message is still there but they need a better way to package that message. I seem to remember them discussing this in 2004.

Hillary Clinton’s unexpected loss, particularly in traditionally blue strongholds, has led to lots of rumination about what the Democrats must do to reclaim their political territory... But there seems to be universal agreement, at least among the Democratic politicians and strategists I’ve interviewed, that the party’s actual ideas are the right ones.

YES Catherine Rampell YOUR DEMOCRAT FRIENDS ARE RIGHT - THEIR IDEAS ARE THE RIGHT ONES. Want proof? Democrats have lost the Senate, House, Presidency, a Majority of State House, and State Governorships... Democrats have lost the whole enchilada...

And while we're talking about blind losers who can't see they're losing... How many people have been 'downsized' out of the Washington Post and New York Times in the last 8 years? Did you know YOUR NEWSPAPER was dying? AND IT'S NOT because of the internet - that was always fake news Catherine Rampell. The original 'threat' to newspapers was DRUDGE and ONLY DRUDGE. BECAUSE HE TOLD THE TRUTH TO THE MSM'S LIES. Even today none of you can make money or have influence on the internet. Ever wonder why?

So, Catherine Rampell your 'oh so wise' 'Democratic politicians and strategists' just might be the Philadelphia Phillies telling the Cubs how to play baseball... Grow up Catherine - open your eyes to 'what is' rather than to your unicorn infused nonexistent world.

Just another, tiresome repeat of Lenin's seminal work, Что делать? ("What Is To Be Done", 1901).

Some guy basically made the same argument after Kerry lost in 2004 in a book, "What's the Matter With Kansas?".

The only coherent idea the Movement has going for it is Lenin's concept of "false consciousness", and it leads, invariably, to where Lenin took it - the dictatorship of a revolutionary vanguard.

I'm very happy about Trump, but I'm still buying more ammo, because these people are utterly predictable. It's a shame nobody studies communism anymore.

I wonder why the prosperous American professional class votes against itself? They have no excuse. They should not be so ignorant.

Apparently it never occurred to her to ask the people who beat the Democrats how they did it. She wouldn’t have liked what they said anyway.

Perhaps calling white working class voters “deplorables” and “irredeemables” and then doubling down on that theme during the waning days of her campaign made them think that Hillary didn’t want their votes.

The Dems who are *supposed* to be for the working class ran policies that increased unemployment, caused stagnant wages, an influx of immigrants, favoring said immigrants, minorities and women, while benefiting none of those and to top it off they have massive contempt for white men and middle America.
They are no longer a worker's party. That information is 40 years old.
Middle America White Workers have finally come to the same conclusion as Reagan, "I didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic Party left me.".
