Donald Trump: I don't Need Celebrities at Inauguration, Just 'The PEOPLE' (slams Hillary again)
The Hill ^ | 12/23/16 GMT | BY PAULINA FIROZI

President-elect Donald Trump called out “the so-called ‘A’ list” celebrities he says are looking to attend his inauguration in a tweet on Thursday, suggesting he wouldn't want them there.

"The so-called 'A' list celebrities are all wanting tickets to the inauguration,” Trump tweeted. “but look what they did for Hillary Clinton, NOTHING. I want the PEOPLE!”

Few celebrities have confirmed publicly that they would not perform at Trump’s inauguration next month.

uring the tail end of the presidential campaign, Trump ripped Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for having celebrities perform at rallies on her behalf. During a rally in Hershey, Pa., just days before Election Day, Trump commented that he didn’t need any big names to draw a crowd.

He mocked Clinton’s star-studded get-out-the-vote concert that included Beyoncé, Jay Z, Big Sean, J. Cole and Chance the Rapper.

"I hear we set a new record for this building. And by the way, I didn't have to bring J-Lo or Jay-Z — the only way she gets anybody, I am here all by myself. I am here all by myself,” Trump said.

"Just me, no guitar, no piano, no nothing. But you know what we do have? It's all of us, it's all the same — we all have great ideas and great vision for our country."

“Oh My, I hope ya’ll caught Tucker Carlson’s show tonight.

LOL Such a delight!”

Well... it’s still on... but I did catch the beginning where he was confronting that obnoxious, leftist female twit.

This nation is too wrapped up in celebrity worship. This a good time to close that door and concentrate on good and noble entertainment, worthwhile matters patriotism.

Bring the churches, military, patriotism, and locals into the mix.

A great time to reduce today’s celebrities to a minor role.

Do you hear me Donald!!!

I could never understand why song and dance men, jesters and play actors are so important to some people. Are their lives that empty? Are they really that easily impressed or amused?

I’d be excited if we had true stars still with us, the likes of Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Bob Hope, Bing, even classy libs like Audrey Hepburn or Cagney. The real thing. But nowadays we have dreck. Pure dreck. So who cares.

I don’t see why anyone needs celebrities for anything.

They are just people, and not particularly smart ones at that.

Joe Pibsico was on Cavuto and said Trump should have entertainers from fly over Midwest, including some youth groups.

Have one of the military’s choirs or better yet The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing “Shenandoah,” “Battle Hymn Of The Republic,” “Dixie,” and “America The Beautiful.”

That’s plenty of “message” and plenty of singing right there. The hell with the so-called “A list” prima donnas.

In fact, I would think the best move would be for President-elect Trump to Tweet and make it official that any celebrity, musician, or other-wise supposedly famous person that issued hatred toward trump supporters is FORBIDDEN to be on any government grounds during any inauguration event as they have a proven track record of violence, domestic terrorism and mental health issues.

Stay on offense Mr. President-Elect. Double the punch not just one for one. Knock them out. Keep them out for 8 years.

Well, in fairness, Trump did have the Nuge in Michigan. But Ted, while normally a rock and roll musician, was playing more a role of constitutional scholar who happened to play guitar, rather than a musical act, per se.

My bet is on Joe Piscopo being the master of ceremonies during one of Trumps Inauguration Balls.

He was on Cavuto this afternoon and he sounds like he wants to be there.P>BTW he may be running for governor on NJ, as a Republican.

I would take notes as to whom has declined to participate and as to what their excuse was. Then see what these folks actually do on Inauguration Day. They want bakers, photographers, florists to suffer for refusing services to folks, then they should see similar penalties.

Or just rub their noses in their hypocrisy. And say that this is a free country.

I have had that feeling ever since the California rally he had to leave and the Chicago fiasco. THat was when I began my support for President Elect Trump. It isn’t the right wing pulling him to their side, it is the leftists driving him to the right.

I’ve posted this on other threads but here goes again:

It would send a really fine message tot he whole country if our new president would cancel the usual elaborate inauguration festivities. Instead, simply take the oath of office in an appropriate location with the appropriate witnesses. Do it early in the day, and then adjourn to the Oval Office for a long session of cancelling Obama’s executive orders.

Festivities are nice, but let’s face it America, our new Republican administration has got a hell of a lot of work to do.

Moe Tucker (drummer for the Velvet Underground) is one of those grandmothers proudly posting pictures of her grandchild alongside reposted conservative memes on facebook.

I was surprised to read she will be getting a lifetime achievement award at the Grammys in 2017.

I think she’d be happy to attend the inauguration (and she did release some albums on her own and even has a retrospective compilation) but I don’t know if they could get her to perform.
