Apparently, Trump’s intervention stopped this from happening. Egypt moved to delay the vote on the motion after Trumps public statement opposing it and then Trump and el-Sisi talked by phone.

Perhaps Trump made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Perhaps Alsisi was in that position to be able to affect the outcome.
