It was the strangest of settings for some very serious breaking news. There was Mika Brzezinski, cuddled up in her flannels on Morning Joe‘s special Christmas set. In the previous segment, Joe Scarborough had grilled Sean Spicer, whom President-elect Trump yesterday named as his White House spokesman, over Trump’s tweet of yesterday in which he said that the US needed to greatly strengthen its nuclear arsenal.
Spicer repeatedly refused to say that the Trump tweet came in response from a statement by Vladimir Putin, just hours earlier, announcing Russia’s intention to strengthen its own nuclear arsenal.
When the show returned after a break, Spicer was gone, but Mika and Joe announced that during the break Spicer had been on the phone with Trump, that Mika had posed a question about the nuclear tweet, and that in response Trump told her: “let it be an arms race because we will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all.”

As we have seen ever since Trump announced he was running for President, he says something like: “You want an arms race, well bring it on” and the media, libs and others go crazy...
We Trump Supporters know what when President Trump says something like this, we wait until 3-4 days and guess what happens, things come out, we get new information as to why President Trump said what he did, and the media, libs and others look more idiotic than they did before...
Am I worried about President Trump, NOT IN YOUR LIFE!!!
I think Trump holds to Casey’s belief in Frederick the Great who said, “It is pardonable to be defeated, but never to be surprised.”
I don’t think Putin “backed down.” I think his comment was a “probe” to which Trump answered satisfactorily. It was a good opening move and just might set the tone of future “play.”
We need to remember that Russia is not the same as the old USSR. All nations are going to act in their own best interests unless they are deliberately sabotaged from within which has occurred in the U.S. with the Obama administration.
I’d rather deal with Russia than the Chinese. The Asian mind is different. MacArthur knew that.

Thanks, I will look into it. I am glad that somebody documented all of what happened to bring down the Soviets, that is the stuff that should be studied for a thousand years into the future.
FYI, another good book is “Armageddon in Prime Time,” by George Bailey. It Was Written in 1984, and substantially laid out what the Reagan Administration was in the process of doing to bankrupt the Soviet Union. Part of the book covered why are culture was out competing them, stuff like McDonald’s and Levi’s and Dallas, and the rest dealt with more substance of things like the Soviet economy and how we were choking it on the input side and forcing it to miss allocate funds to defense. Basically, what Reagan did was to kick the door in on a rotten structure, which caused the whole thing to collapse.
And the Russians wanted Trump to be President, yeah right.

Think Trump should do the same with the Arab States. Just like we don’t import “Blood Diamonds” we should stop importing “Blood Oil”. Fun how human rights might spread in the Arab world when they run out of money

It’s a nice story, but I doubt it’s really true. I remember the VAX as being the size of a tall filing cabinet. The Russians could have smuggled it onto an Aeroflot flight to USSR from anywhere.
