This is an interesting story from a few years ago about how much the Head of St Jude’s made as his salary. It hacked off some parents of cancer kids
It says in the Bible that to whom much is given, much will be required. I have a nephew who has a software company. It is his whole life. He eats, sleeps, plays and so on for that company.
In addition, I have never been hired to do a job by a welfare recipient or a poor person.
Just saying.
The issue that charities have to negotiate is that successful CEOs and senior managers will command top dollar from for-profit businesses as well.
That $1 Million CEO may be able to get $1.5 or $2 Million from a regular company. So they may actually taking a pay cut to run the charity.
CEO compensation is less of an indicator than the percentage actually used on programs compared to fund-raising and overhead. IIRC, St. Judes is pretty good with almost 70% going toward actual programs.
I don’t believe St. Judes turns away any kids and there service is free, so why are the children’s parents complaining?
