Obama: Fox, Limbaugh created 'character named Barack Obama'
The Washington Examiner ^ | December 21, 2016 | Sarah Westwood

Posted on 12/21/2016 3:16:01 PM PST by kevcol

"You understand that if people are angry that somehow the government is failing, then they are going to look to the guy who represents government. And that applies, by the way, even to some of the folks who are now Trump supporters," Obama said. "They're responding to a fictional character named Barack Obama who they see on Fox News or who they hear about through Rush Limbaugh."

Rush is always a day late and a dollar short with real solutions, real change, real answers etc because he is a paid Unipartier, paid to keep the Hegelian conflict stirred up between “Left” and “Right’.

VERY true. How many in media refer to the Valdez oil spill as the “val-DEEZ”? One of them screwed up that pronunciation and they ALL do now. Even Fox, which catches all kinds of crap for having a few non-liberal commentators, is 98% liberal. Fox parrots the same AP/UPI garbage that they all do, that’s who is really running things.

Glen Beck? I was NEVER a listener of his. I didn’t listen to Rush for 3 hours a day by any means. When I did catch him, he seemed decidedly on the side of Cruz to me. I remember catching him on my lunch break the day after Cruz conceded defeat and Rush was acting decidedly down and was saying, “Well, I sure hope he [Trump] does the right things and can make it work if he somehow becomes president.” Rush didn’t pull a Romney but you could hear that he was down when talking about it and it was obvious who he wanted in that race.

Classic who do you believe, me or your lying eyes.

What a friggin Maroon.

I have been on this Earth for over 63 Years and I have absolutely no recollection of any President acting and saying crap like this as his Administration is winding down.

Just a spoiled petulant child who just happens to hate America as founded.

Rush was out openly saying that Cruz is the next Ronald Reagan while saying that Trump is good at getting the libs all spun up but shouldn’t ever be allowed near Washington. And when The Donald really hit Cruz hard during the campaign, the two talk radio guys that really came swinging against Trump were—wait for it—Limbaugh and Levin. Where were you when this was going on?

We know Levin was a paid shill. Rush is more uncertain. I figured he was rich enough to be beyond bribery but his behavior during Election 2016 leaves a lot of doubt. Maybe he wasn’t getting cash and was instead worried about business relationships. Rush really burned a large part of his audience when he chose the GOP establishment guy and a lot of people here are done with him, so it’s not not like I’m yodeling in the canyon here.

No you are not ‘yodeling in the canyon’. I stopped Rush cold turkey in 2012. This year, I find out he was supping secretly with Ailes, Murdock, Chuck US Schumer and Lacy Graham, back in 2011, getting talking points on amnesty. I might read something Rush says, but I refuse to listen to him any longer.

Never was a listener of Beck, that guy’s a nut. I sure did draw out all the people who have an emotional attachment to Rush Limbaugh, though. I wish I could’ve gotten this kind of response during the 2013 DoD Sequestration and furloughs, FR at-large was terrified of that subject and couldn’t run from it fast enough.

And I feel stupid for not knowing that Rush’s treachery went back that far, I thought it was a new thing. Choosing a candidate that occasionally lets it slip that he’ll just go-along/get-along with the illegal-immigration status quo and 98% of the time will answer nothing is unconscionable to me. At best, Cruz was lazy on the subject. Once in a while, he showed that he was a collaborator. Rush chose this guy. I too am DONE with him.

Rush ticked me off when he breathlessly read the lies of Elliot Abrams about Newt, back in 2012. Right before the Florida primary.. Rush was neck deep in Romney’s underwear... It was Jeffry Lord that went to the Congressional record and straightened out Abrams’ lies, but it was too little too late. Yes, I hold a grudge for Rush perverting ‘conservatism’... Use to be he was all about following the ‘original intent’ of our Constitution. But he has shown the only thing he cares about is his bank account. I ‘supported’ Rush, so I ‘feel’ like I paid for the right to expose his duplicity.

You tell me why there are so many Limbaugh listeners
who claim that he was anti Cruz from the start? If you
really listened to Rush you would have learned that he
does not endorse candidates in the primaries and he has
made that clear since I started listening to him in 1985
in Sacramento. And, do you think that conservatives are
so stupid that they let one or two radio hosts determine
who gets their vote?

When Limbaugh tells his radio audience in plain English that Ted Cruz is the next Ronald Reagan, what the hell am I supposed to think?

Rush has typically spoken very well of Newt Gingrich. To turn on him like that before the Florida primary speaks volumes. A person doesn’t doesn’t just change their views like that.

I heard him say that too. Like most others I didn’t pee
my pants over it because COUNTLESS times over the years
I had heard him say he did not endorse candidates in
primary campaigns.

There are only two groups of people Limbaugh doesn’t care
about pissing off. One group includes America’s enemies
and the other group includes those liberals who won’t
change. Everybody else is a potential customer for
the products he hawks. Why would he intentionally piss
either Cruz or Trump or Rubio or even Jeb supporters
off in a primary contest and why is that so hard to
wrap your mind around?

Dude, your emotional attachment to Rush is disturbing, especially considering the collaboration that he’s done with the big media and Democrats like Chuck Schumer. I can’t crawl into the guy’s head and tell you WHY he did what he did but it’s public record. I don’t trust big media either, but when Breitbart and Newsmax are reporting that Rush is flat-out endorsing Cruz, then I hear what he’s saying as I’m driving home from work, what is a person supposed to think?

Q: When Trump really stepped up his game against Rubio and Cruz, which two talk-radio hosts really came out swinging against Trump? A: Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin.

We KNOW that Mark Levin was financially motivated. It’s not as clear with Rush’s motivation but it sure is curious that he would be looking the other way on Cruz’s lack of commitment against illegal immigration.

Democrats deify their politicians and media figures, we don’t (usually). It’s kind of disturbing to see you doing that. Just think about it, OK? No voice coming out of a speaker is above scrutiny, especially when they start showing disturbing signs of behaving not-so-conservative. The money that a good number of talk-show hosts were getting from Cruz PACs is payola (when it’s not disclosed), which is a violation of federal law. I think the MSM knew all about it and looked the other way because it was attempt at taking down Trump. If this was going on against Cruz, Rubio, Bernie, or Hillary (in other words, ANYBODY against Trump) people would’ve gone to prison for it. It’s a hell of a coincidence that when Cruz PACs paid $8 million to an insider at Rigel Strategies LLC, most of talk-radio including Rush suddenly fell in line with Cruz. Since it was a plot against Trump, the MSM and FCC let it slide.

If you think that I deify Limbaugh then you are wrong.
That is your second mistake. True, I have listened to
him longer than 99.9% of all FReepers. But that just
means that I have had more opportunity to understand
him than you and the rest of the Rush conspiracy crowd.
What you guys always seem to do is to pound on the
evidence that points in your preferred direction and
ignore the rest. Did Limbaugh ever defend Trump? What
does Limbaugh have to say about Trump now?

Limbaugh has been in the national radio talk show
business for somewhere around eight presidential
election cycles. Do you really think he would have
been around this long if all he did was savage
primary candidates only then to have to kiss butt
in the general election? Tell me when was it that
outspoken Trump accused Limbaugh of being in
the tank for Cruz? I missed that. Maybe because
he knows that Limbaugh’s second goal is to
defend conservatism against liberalism. Of
course his first goal is to secure and hold as big
an audience as possible. Limbaugh knows he
can’t do that if he focuses on one candidate
during the primary season. Why is that such a
difficult concept to understand? You and
conspiracy friends just won’t see the big
picture.
