Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Calgary is "top of mind" in Ottawa as his government moves to grow the economy while protecting the environment by allowing two major pipeline projects to go ahead.
Last month, Trudeau's cabinet gave the green light to both the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion and Enbridge's Line 3 project, while rejecting the controversial Enbridge-backed Northern Gateway project.
He told a business audience at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce year-end breakfast Wednesday morning that the two projects will create upward of 22,000 jobs.

Meanwhile... Trudeau just eliminated tens of thousands of potential jobs when he joined a desperate outgoing President Obam in his attempt to 'cement' his legacy, enacting an outdated piece of legislation to kill the hopes and dreams of well paid potential oil working jobs for a generation to come.... I can hardly wait for Just not ready to enact a carbon tax. That will be the last nail in his political coffin.

It's interesting that the project they rejected up there is the one that was better positioned to supply oil to Asia.
I suspect the U.S. is going to get its act together under Donald Trump and use NAFTA as a bargaining tool with the Trudeau government to get these pipeline projects approved.

Check out the details of the projects before you say that.
The Trudeau government just rejected the Enbridge pipeline project that would have supported exports to Asia, while approving the one that terminates in Superior, Wisconsin.
