I suspect the police found the id right away, released the first suspect, and then searched for the perp in all the usual places first before announcing the find.
The perp probably thought he would die but that if he didn’t he would need ID to transit borders while fleeing.
Someone tell how Tunisian mass murderers get into Europe as refugees. Tunisia is NOT as a war zone and yet yet massacre perps in Nice & Berlin where allowed in without any questions. No one seemed curious enough to ask if they qualified as real refugees in the first place.

It took the police about a day to figure out that he belongs to a “large Islamic organization and had weapons training abroad.” Presumably this same info could have been found BEFORE letting him into Germany. Andrea Merkel allowed this killer into the country, and facilitated the deaths of 12 innocent people. I am past pondering why she is still in office. Why is she not swinging from a lamppost?

I could believe that a terrorist could accidently leave behind an ID or maybe not accidently, but what I can’t understand is that the police are just now putting out this info. They didn’t look on the floor of the truck for evidence?

I know these guys are stupid, but leaving an ID under the seat, and after the first suspect is released? It’s more likely to be planted evidence.
Been a couple of times to Tunisia through cruising. First time it did not feel right.
Second time we got off at the dock and turned around and went right back up to the ship. Months later some of their terrorist population killed tourists in a museum.
At the ship, people on the docks in wheel chairs were being taken off the pier in a mini kidnapping for money.
