According to a leaked Pentagon memo, Russia is not on the list of Donald Trump's defense priorities.
The priorities, as they have been outlined by the incoming Trump administration, include defeating ISIS, eliminating budget caps, developing a new cyber strategy, and finding greater efficiencies.
The memo, obtained by Foreign Policy, does not include any mention of Russia, which has been identified by senior military officials in the Obama administration as the No. 1 threat to the United States.

Remember that they are close to Iran as well as Red China...................................... Yes and they share a portion of their border with them, a border that stretches 9000 miles long that they have to defend with a 135 Million population. Do you think with all the natural resources that are contained in Russia, they aren’t concerned about Iran and China? It means that it isn’t one of the top 4 priorities, 3 of which had to do with funding and the other dealing with cyber issues.

I considered Iran to be a friend of the US prior to 1979 Revolution. The Shah was certainly no more humane nor benevolent a dictator than Putin.
Did Iran fancy itself a super power? Meddle in our alliances? Conspire to steal the arctic? None of the above, obviously.
