Rush,

You so blew it on explaining what a "Hamilton Elector" is.

A Hamilton Elector is NOT a snowflake who was emboldened by the dressing down of Mike Pence by the Broadway cast of "Hamilton."

A Hamilton Elector is a person who believes that what Alexander Hamilton wrote in The Federalist #68 meant that Electoral College electors should not be bound by their states and were originally intended to be free to vote their conscience.

Federalist #68:

Nothing was more to be desired than that every practicable obstacle should be opposed to cabal, intrigue, and corruption. These most deadly adversaries of republican government might naturally have been expected to make their approaches from more than one querter, but chiefly from the desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils. How could they better gratify this, than by raising a creature of their own to the chief magistracy of the Union? But the convention have guarded against all danger of this sort, with the most provident and judicious attention. They have not made the appointment of the President to depend on any preexisting bodies of men, who might be tampered with beforehand to prostitute their votes; but they have referred it in the first instance to an immediate act of the people of America, to be exerted in the choice of persons for the temporary and sole purpose of making the appointment. And they have excluded from eligibility to this trust, all those who from situation might be suspected of too great devotion to the President in office. No senator, representative, or other person holding a place of trust or profit under the United States, can be of the numbers of the electors. Thus without corrupting the body of the people, the immediate agents in the election will at least enter upon the task free from any sinister bias. Their transient existence, and their detached situation, already taken notice of, afford a satisfactory prospect of their continuing so, to the conclusion of it. The business of corruption, when it is to embrace so considerable a number of men, requires time as well as means. Nor would it be found easy suddenly to embark them, dispersed as they would be over thirteen States, in any combinations founded upon motives, which though they could not properly be denominated corrupt, might yet be of a nature to mislead them from their duty.

Federalist #68 suggests that the Electoral College was meant to be filled temporarily by citizens of the United States who are free from other obligations to federal office holders. Furthermore, they were not to convene as a single body where factions might form; they were to remain local to their states and vote separately from the other states.

Hamilton Electors are taking this to mean that they should not be bound by the state to how they should vote.

Perhaps you can use another segment to correct what you said?

-PJ

Rush can’t bring himself to proclaim that liberalism is a mental disorder, because he detests the person who coined the phrase.

The five stages, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance are a part of the framework that makes up our learning to live with the one we lost. They are tools to help us frame and identify what we may be feeling. But they are not stops on some linear timeline in grief.

Denial-Riots after election day

Anger-Stein Recount

Bargaining-Attempt to subvert the EC.

Depression-Hillary sucked as a candidate (-We are here)

Acceptance-

I doubt they will make it to acceptance. They being both the Democrats and the Never Trump camp.

I doubt they will make it to acceptance.

If they do, it will be when Obama's "shadow government" attempt fails to gain any traction.

Rush talking about three nasty insane lesbian retired psychiatrists sending a letter to Obama that Trump needs to be required to be examined by a impartial board of psychiatrists. He’s mentally unstable, you know. Two of them are bull dykes “Married” to each other. Third one has written a book about rethinking incest, specifically father-daughter incest.

Can’t make stuff like this up. The depths of leftist mental illness knows no bounds.

Wasn’t Rush or some others in the jawbone media hinting that electors become rogue if Hillary was elected? Seemed like I had heard that before the election.

Who was that, SpaceBar? I apologize if it's already been discussed--I'm late today.

The thought is always tossed around.

Bob Beckel was seeking faithless electors against Bush in 2000.

After 30 years, the format of Rush Limbaugh's program is familiar to even casual listeners. The familiarity is even comforting to some as they anticipate the theme music at the beginning of the hour, bumper music, etc.

Using Adobe Audition's spectral display, here are some screenshots of the RL show in graphic format with some labels.

Start

The theme music is played and the spoken word begins soon after

Segment #2

Break #2 Usually has RL talking up to the very last moment ie over the earsplitting tone.

Segment #3

Since it follows a bottom of the hour break - often a news break for affiliates - the affiliates often drop in an annoying canned station ID.

Break #3

Cutoff, usually similar to Break #1

Segment #4

Tinkly Christmas music has a distinct look on the spectral display as individual notes appear as bright dots.

Break #4

Sometimes a voiceover break, sometimes a cutoff.

Teaser Segment

A mess packed into a few seconds. An affiliate ID, bumper music, a few brief words and the earsplitting tone.

Here's the full broadcast hour

And the hour with ads, promos, noises and other chaff silenced
