Since Election Day, New York City officials have spoken regularly and emphatically about a rise in hate crimes, particularly those directed at Muslims. Gotham’s political leadership sees an obvious connection between Donald Trump’s victory and an uptick in hateful incidents. Mayor Bill de Blasio asserts that the rise “is documented . . . . It’s generated by the rhetoric that was used in the election. It’s not a surprise.” He also said, just a few days after the election, “some people now, unfortunately, take a signal from Donald Trump’s rhetoric that it’s open season against all the different kinds of people that Trump insulted and denigrated in his campaign. . ."
. . .In the 28-day period following November 8, the number of hate incidents reported by the NYPD rose from 20 in 2015 to 43 in 2016. Most of these incidents were anti-Semitic: hate incidents against Jews tripled year-over-year, from eight to 24. Anti-Muslim hate increased as well, from two incidents in 2015 to four in 2016 (including the bogus attack on Seweid—three if her case is excluded). There were no anti-Hispanic attacks in the 4-week period in either 2015 or 2016. Anti-black hate crimes dropped from two in 2015 to one this year. Anti-gay hate incidents went from four to five. Curiously, the sharpest increase in hate violence was against a group that is rarely mentioned in these discussions: anti-white hate crime rose from one incident in 2015 to five this year, according to the NYPD. . .

It would be nice to see someone challenge de Blasio over the specifics of his claim. Sounds like the stats prove him wrong.

I guess that black church arson in Mississippi was done by pro-Trump Ninjas too, as we’re six weeks into that investigation with no updates at all since the very first reports there.
Anything at all can be classified as a “hate crime”, as long as a non-muzzy is accused by a muzzy.

In an odd coincidence, my daughter just walked in the door and told me that a 50-something white guy just pulled up beside her in a parking lot and intentionally blocked her in her car.
She says he pulled into the space next to her, looked her in the face, saw that she looked Asian, turned off his truck, and walked into the store.
She’s certain he did it out of racism, but I guess he could be an equal-opportunity shitbird.
This isn’t a physical attack, of course, or even a verbal attack, but it is something.

I am reminded of a black march through a white area years ago. White people did not oppose it or come out against it.
The NEWS MEDIA was everywhere trying to talk whites into some show of resistance, a frown, a clenched fist, a yell...none of the whites gave the news media what they wanted.
There has been a definite and ominous increase in hate crime hoaxes which are assigned the same value as are actual assaults on Moslems by non Moslems or Negroes by Caucasians. The hoaxes are mostly outed but remain in the MSM tally of outrages as reprehensible thought crimes. Liberals think it is just as outrageous that they have to do phony “hate crimes” as are real “hate crimes” if they could find any. Conservatives, excusez moi, White Supremisists and NAZIs are too damned lazy to commit their own “hate crimes.”
The “hate crime” is in the accusation , not in the perpetration. If an accredited minority person claims that a white male committed a hate crime then a “hate crime” was necessarily committed, no evidence or, indeed, action or “offensive” words are needed, just the accusation. That was made explicit once upon a time. The seriousness of the accusation is what makes it important.
What perversion would that be?
