I agree, Obama has destroyed the dem party. He has incited and gathered to himself all the fringe groups (blacks, Muslim, LGBTQ, drug users, criminals, some Latinos), but vilified the white blue collar worker —the previous core of the D party. They jumped ship and went to Trump.

Did they really believe the way to victory, was to paint themselves as the new and improved liberal Republican party, and thus peel off a winning margin of voters from the real liberal party?
Did they really conclude from their 'autopsy' of the 2012 race, that the time had finally come to completely abandon the Republican party's long standing central platforms, and thus leave the base of their party in the political wilderness?
They had to have convinced themselves that the number of traditional conservative Americans had dwindled to a level where they couldn't win a presidential election again. How wrong they were!
