Harvard University law professor Larry Lessig said Tuesday that 20 Republican Electoral College voters are considering flipping to vote against Donald Trump, more than half the number of anti-Trump votes needed to stall the president-elect from being sworn into office.
"Obviously, whether an elector ultimately votes his or her conscience will depend in part upon whether there are enough doing the same. We now believe there are more than half the number needed to change the result seriously considering making that vote," Lessig told Politico.
Lessig has been offering free legal counsel to "faithless electors" who are considering casting a ballot for an alternative candidate as opposed to Trump, who earned 306 votes on Election Day, well above the necessary 270. . .

The fool has said he will not vote at all and on the 19th another elector will be voted in to replace him. This as per the article in this thread claiming there is but one defector.
Oh, oh! Hahvid! The headline said “Harvard.” One can’t begin to measure the volume of foolishness that comes from the mouths of Harvard professors and students, all of whom learn to love the taste of their own words. Harvard students and faculty rest til their dying day on the laurel of having been admitted there to study or teach. Where do you teach, sir? Where did you go to college? “Cambridge,” he says with overweening arrogance masked as humility.
Time will soon tell the answer.
“Lessig says” is liberal flavor of the week. Week is half over.
Professor Larry Lessig, affectionately known as Professor Trigglypuff, is an expert. He has a remarkable ability to predict, similar to the ability of all the experts predictions on Trump. Just keep in mind that Trump will never get the nomination.
Research shows as of 2014 a candidate needs 270 votes to win. I had no idea that the rules changed. It used to be the most votes.
Crap.
Reckon I won’t go vote for him, then.
:-\
Imprison Professor Lessig for running a Coup d’Etat and damaging the lawful voting rights of others.
If the left cared about election integrity, they would support voter ID laws and other measures to protect the right to vote. But they don't; they try to disenfranchise voters every chance they get.
But let’s be honest, if the shoe were on the other foot, the Freepers would be the ones hoping for these exact same things and espousing similar conspiracy theories. The far left and the far right are most similar to one another in their reactions to stress.
Isn’t this the definition of subversion?
No, not a rookie liar. . .he's a Harvard professor, so he's a veteran liar. . .and dumb.
Hey, Flick Lives. ..a Jean Shepherd aficionado?
“Yeah... theyre desperate so theyll make up fake claims about GOP Elector defections.”
Let’s say, just for discussion, that Trump should be denied 270 electoral votes. Wouldn’t it then go to the House to decide? Being the GOP has a healthy margin i believe it would simply reaffirm Trump. However, grant that there’s no guarantees this would happen. Guess it would depend on how many never Trumpers there are in the GOP side.
I’m surprised that lefties, who used our traditions and process to gain such power, are so enamored with mob rule. Had mob rule prevailed along the way, they’d never have reached their height of power.
His sources must come from the CIA.
Yup. Use to listen to him out of WOR back in the late 70's.
So he “thinks” that 20 “are considering” changing their votes. I guess the rest are not considering it, so it’s all over.
Just more fake news from the dems. Their fake news didn’t impress the voters. Even democrats don’t believe the fake news anymore, so it’s time for the honorable democrats to take their party back from the fakers.
heh heh
He’s gotten 20 inquiries from investigators of one sort or another trying to figure what these loons are up to!
and Trump has a 1% of winning the election...oh wait...
No.
It would depend on who the other Republican, the one with 37 EV, was.
What if it was Paul Ryan? What if it was Mitt Romney?
I have zero confidence in the "Republican" House in such a scenario.
