Every American was touched in some way and the rest of the 60s was never quite the same.
..............................................................
Never cared for Kennedy, but the rest of the 60’s were days of American Supremacy. LOVED the Space Program and the moon Landing.

We may as well go for the ki11 in 2020 by replacing some RINO senators with solid conservatives and, additionally, targeting 8 Rat seats that will give us a 60 vote behemoth.

First Dolphin game my dad took me to, 1973, Dolphins vs Bills at the Orange Bowl. Anderson came up out of the secondary and tackled OJ Simpson, sending Simpson out of the game with a sprained ankle. Made up for the fact that Pro! magazine had put Simpson on its cover that week and we had to buy it if we wanted a program.

Anderson went on to get a law degree and become a state senator. Amazing how many went on to become accomplished in second careers.

With so many weak-sister Senators like McCain, Graham, Flake, Murkowsky, Hatch, Heller, Corker, Alexander, Hoeven and Rubio (those are just the ones who voted for Rubio’s amnesty bill) we need every vote we can get.
Let’s hope Kennedy is better than the aforementioned Cheap Labor Express Republicans.

For me, the death of JFK marked the end of American innocence.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
For me and many others it was his election that marked the end of American innocence.

I don’t remember the game, but it was at the Dolphins stadium in Miami when Dick intercepted in the end zone and returned the ball 100 yards for the touchdown. Fantastic defensive player. He was great at forcing fumbles and interceptions. If I remember correctly, he had four interceptions in one game. Met him a few times. He was a special kind of guy.

We live in Texas, but get our local TV from Shreveport, LA.

Kennedy's the one who closed his ads with,

"Folks, I still believe that love is the answer..."

"...but -- you should own a handgun -- just in case..."

Heck -- even I wanted to vote for him! '-)

“..the rest of the 60s was never quite the same.”

Yeah, esp. the way that people kept getting murdered. Truly the bad old days.

LA had Republicans running as follows:

Senate - Kennedy
House - Johnson

Kinda interesting.

They BOTH WON and Johnson appears to be very conservative:

Louisiana elected Republicans in all three runoff federal elections.

Republican state Treasurer John Kennedy’s victory Saturday gives the GOP a 52-48 edge in the
Senate starting in January. .....

Voters also chose Republican Clay Higgins, a former sheriff’s captain known as the
“Cajun John Wayne,” in the 3rd District representing southwest and south central
Louisiana. Republican state Rep. Mike Johnson won the 4th District, covering northwest Louisiana.
