Dow Chemical Chairman and CEO Andrew Liveris will be heading the national Manufacturing Council, Republican President-elect Donald Trump announced Friday.  The news was announced at Trump's Friday night rally in the Grand Rapids area, which is part of his nationwide post-election thank you tour.

Liveris, who was born in Australia and has worked with Dow for 40 years, said during brief comments at the rally that the Midland-based company is committed to investing more in Michigan.

He said he was "tingling with pride" at the appointment and told the crowd he was excited to help promote manufacturing in Michigan and the rest of the country.  "Let's make America great again by doing great things in America again," Liveris said.

Trump lauded Liveris as one of the "most respected businessmen in the world" and said he would find ways to bring industry back to America.  "Nobody can do it like Andrew," he said.

Here is the missing beginning of the story:

I’d give John Ratzenberger some position in this council. Ever since his Cheers days he has been giving speeches and even had his own TV series about American manufacturers. For years he was practically the only guy speaking about bringing manufacturing back.

Recall that under Liveras, Dow Chemical gave $705,000 to the Clinton Foundation. Furthermore, Dow Chemical paid more than $20 million to Clinton-linked firm Teneo. An internal fraud investigator at Dow expressed concern about the relationship. The fraud investigator issued a report that said, "It appears Dow is paying Teneo for connections with Clinton."

Another great pick...

Agreed - Just wish he would stay away from the Globalist-Sachs banksters. They are a cancer that will infect everything he is trying to accomplish.

I've said that if all Trump accomplishes is securing the border (WALL) and eliminating ACA I will be happy, but there is so much more that needs to and can be be done. Restoration of individual rights. Paying off the national debt. Eliminating mass immigration. Returning control of education to the family. and the list goes on...
