Marijuana legalization activists returned to the office of Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions on Thursday, successfully sneaking cannabis past a security checkpoint so they could offer it for use by the attorney general nominee or his staff.
Sessions communications director Chris Jackson deftly handled the two dozen office visitors, listening politely to stories about medical use of the plant and arguments against prohibition, but he declined to accept a sample of the drug that is increasingly legalized or decriminalized at the state level but remains illegal in the eyes of federal authorities.
Although at least two activists brought weed, with one laying some on a table and another rolling a joint as he wore a hunk on his suit jacket, Jackson did not call U.S. Capitol Police, who can and do make arrests on federal charges for bring pot onto Capitol grounds.
The permissive approach was welcomed by the activists, who recommended that Sessions commit to a similarly hands-off policy if he leads the Justice Department.

Peace be with you. Prayer for your healing offered.
I’m pretty sure the picture is fake. The “Farewell 18th Amendment” sign gives it away. We all know amending the Constitution isn’t necessary to prohibit something.
“The addiction mars the thinking and judgement of marijuana users.”
This is a fallacy. Responsible use of cannabis, just as with alcohol does not equal addiction.
Israel is also at the forefront of treating it’s veterans for PTSD with cannabis. Of course, in a country where everyone serves, veterans get top notch care.
Thank you. I appreciate your kindness.
So far so good after eleven years.
Thank goodness for Big Pharma. LOL
No complaints. I’m the luckiest guy walking.
Can someone please explain to me simple things about smoking a substance?
Smoke tobacco ...
Smoke marijuana...
How is it we now consider smoking marijuana is so good we have medical marijuana
But smoking tobacco is so bad that we ban you even smoking around other people
I would think that bringing smoke in to your lungs in either case would he be equally damaging
This kind of juvenile stunt doesnt help or advance the issue of legalizing cannabis at all, IMO.
You win Post of the Thread Stickman.
Don’t smoke pot, don’t believe it serves any medical purpose at all (except to get high).
My drug of choice has always been good Scotch whiskey, which also serves no medical purpose at all.
That being said; don’t care if people grow pot, don’t care if people smoke pot.
What you do on your time is your business as long as your not hurting other people.
Just don’t show up on my job site stoned, drunk, or hung over.
If you do, I WILL find a reason to FIRE you.
I live in Trinity County, California; all of my neighbors grow pot, all of my neighbors smoke pot.
As long as they don’t bother me I won’t bother them.
I voted to legalize it this last election, hopefully to get the criminal element out of it’s production and distribution.
What are you, a conservative or something?!
Thank you.
Proves my point nicely.
“Proves my point nicely.”
LOL! Enjoy your fallacy then. Peace :)
“Just dont show up on my job site stoned, drunk, or hung over.
If you do, I WILL find a reason to FIRE you.”
I think this is more than reasonable.
I know I would never go to work like that.
If I can believe all those starving seniors that I see on those, $49.00 a month, begging commercials, one might figure it is cheaper to keep them stoned than feed them.
“If I can believe all those starving seniors that I see on those, $49.00 a month, begging commercials, one might figure it is cheaper to keep them stoned than feed them.”
IIRC, those commercials are begging for jews who live in other countries.
Pot it is then. </s>
The dopers’ obsessiveness is indeed evidence in itself.
You cannot have a discussion. You cannot cite studies, personal observation or experience. There will always be a another word, a last dig.
YOU CANNOT DISAGREE.
They are like tar babies, made of the gunk scraped from their own clotted lungs.
Marijuana is not physically addictive in the same way as caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, opiates, etc.
Habit-forming? Yes. Addictive? No.
“Pot it is then. </s> “
That was good for a chuckle. Peace :)
I’m fine with disagreement. If you want to explain why you would never use cannabis that’s a part of normal discourse in these FoRums. And if you have a study that’s not funded by prohibitionists or pro-cannabis organizations I would love to see it.
Just don’t tell me I can’t use it. Don’t call me an addict when you don’t know me or why I use cannabis.
If you don’t want to ever use cannabis I will NEVER try to convince you that you should.
I do & will wish you a very pleasant day. Promise :)
