Can someone please explain to me simple things about smoking a substance?

Smoke marijuana...
How is it we now consider smoking marijuana is so good we have medical marijuana
But smoking tobacco is so bad that we ban you even smoking around other people
I would think that bringing smoke in to your lungs in either case would he be equally damaging
Top, putting stuff in your lungs is indeed mostly bad.
And as most know, pot has a lot of tar and other particulates.
there are other ways to ingest it, though.
many older folks prefer eating it in gummies.
