President-elect Donald J. Trump is expected to name as his Labor Secretary fast food executive Andy Puzder, who stands diametrically opposed to Trumps signature issues on trade and immigration which won him the election. Puzder is the chief executive of CKE Restaurants, which includes Carls Jr. and Hardees.
Advocates for American wage-earners say that Puzder as Secretary of Labor is alarming because he will be in charge of enacting policies that directly impact American workers, whom Puzder believes are unwilling to do certain jobs. Puzder has suggested that available U.S. jobs should instead be filled by imported foreign labor.
Puzder has even gone so far as to suggest that he prefers foreign laborers to native-born American workers because foreign nationals are more grateful and have a better attitude.
The fact is that there are jobs in this country that U.S. citizens, for whatever reason, are reluctant or unwilling to perform, he said in a 2013 Politico op-ed in which he advocated for expansionist immigration policies.
As the Washington Post reported, Puzder suggested that flipping burgers is one such job Americans simply wont do:
Andrew Puzder, head of the California-based Hardees fast-food chain, said his business is a good fit for immigrants because they are willing to start at the bottom and work up
Immigrants appreciate what America offers, Puzder said during a recent visit to Washington to lobby for immigration reform. They are not taking jobs from Americans, because there are not sufficient Americans applying for jobs. Maybe they feel they have better options.

As labor secretary, his immigration views are irrelevant.
Secretary of Labor can’t really do jack in regards to policy related to illegals and I’m sure Trump/Sessions will keep him in check.
That said, I am surprised this is coming from Breitbart.
He is on the labor express.
And since when don’t we appreciate LEGAL immigrants?
His view has nothing to do with ILLEGAL ALIENS

I've got cousins' kids who prove this.
Small town in west Michigan. Seems every fast food joint has a sign up saying they're hiring. Usually starting at $9.
They think they should all start at $12
....I found out by yesterday from someone I know who installs drywall just how much illegals are demanding for manual labor “day work”....
In this case moving two hundred sheets of drywall
from a garage to indoors...$15 per hour
We don’t need LEGAL immigrants to take jobs for which we have plenty of qualified Americans who have been idled.

How ####ing irrelevant is that?
We gonna squeeze our eyes shut again like during Bush?
Doesn’t make one a traitor to Trump to question picks.
Geez...
And no, there are NO ####ing jobs some American isn’t willing to do.
Or should be forced to do if on welfare.
Don’t cloud the issue with facts! Legal, illegal; everyone knows true conservatives hate all immigrants and “people of color.”
In the past we would view this through the prism of supply and demand, and wages for that work would probably move up to $12/hour if that is what an employer had to offer to get workers. Circumventing the law of supply & demand by bringing in legal immigrants to keep those wages down is disgraceful and WRONG.
Do you know what $9/hour gets you today?
I’m not even supporting a higher minimum wage; just let the market dictate it (without screwing around with the market by importing $9 workers from abroad).
The point of view that Puzder espoused in that 2013 op-ed is commonly believed. It is not a disqualifier in and of itself. But Puzder must have assured President-elect Trump that he will carry out Trump's vision and policies. Otherwise I highly doubt that Puzder would have been nominated.
Julia Hahn wrote this piece. She is the best writer we have when it comes to immigration issues. Not good if this is Trump’s choice.
When you take away or reduce the dependents we have now they will be forced to get up off thier a##es and go to work. The reason Illegal and legals are taking these jobs is because the rats have been coddling the lazy for years
That would certainly help; right now a fast-food worker ends up living in the same tenement as the Welfarians, and his kids go to the same school as theirs. The only difference between the two in terms of end result is one is tired...
This is the way it has always been and will always be until the American people walk to the border and SHUT IT DOWN.
Keeping my promise list. Will not really go active until 01/21/17 #TEXIT is still a great solution
Everyone should read Sundance analysis at CTH.
I bet if mommy and daddy would kick them out of the basement, take away their credit card, quit paying for their phones, quit making their car payments, quit putting gas in vehicle that 9 bucks an hour would look pretty good real quick.
Not societies fault, mommies and daddies need to pull the tit out of these babies mouths and kick their a$$es to the curb.
They are part of the entitlement generation where they think they are entitled to what they WANT and not what they have to EARN.
This is why this country will never recover. These families are raising a bunch of spoiled brats and need to kick some butt /rant off
It’s stupid illogic from the freak out at everything corner of the right.
It’s what our side is best at, and it’s why we haven’t won jack until Trump came along.
Swear to Christ sometimes there seems to be no media that doesn’t have these shoot off their mouth types.
