While a few designers have made news saying they would not dress the future first lady, Carolina Herrera said she'd be honored if Melania Trump wore one of her outfits.
The famed designer spoke about Trump on the red carpet before she received an honor of her own Tuesday night from the Women's Leadership Council at Lincoln Center.
...
But when asked if she would, Herrera said, "Of course I will, as the first lady of this country I will. Of course."
She added, "It is an honor to dress the first ladies of the country and it's something to do for the United States. It's not for myself. It's for the public."

That is absolutely gorgeous! Classic, elegant and dazzling!!
Melanie will look wonderful in something like that. What a breath of fresh air to have an elegant first lady!
Wow! What a dress!
That’s interesting.
No offense to this kind designer, but I think Melania knows how to dress herself.
I loved the red gown Laura Bush wore to the Inaugural Ball.
I can’t believe it. I CALLED FIRST DIBS WEEKS AGO !!!
“...we do treat the occupants of the White House like Royalty”
I really think the left does that more than the right. I remember a lot of people liking Laura Bush, but not fawning over her like Mooch. The pattern dates back to ‘Camelot’.
I love the costumes that Edith Head designed for Grace Kelly in “Rear Window”. So elegant!
Great movie, too!
Yes. She’s has wonderful posture and is symetrically proportioned. It’s a classical design and unlike too many women today, Ivanka doesn’t look like a gym rat on steroids. This flowing style suits her.
Classy! Both her quote and her gowns.
She sounds like an actual adult in the world of fashion.
Yes! In the 1980's Yves Saint Laurent did a series of clothes that were inspired by Monet's paintings. The pieces were embroidered and beaded by hand by the house of Lesage which specializes in that kind of work. I can't find images on the web that do the designs justice (I recall seeing them in magazines at the time), but I found an image of two of the jackets.
Here is a better image of the jacket on the left in the above photo. Beautiful work!
I love the wedding dress that Edith Head designed for Grace Kelly!
Beautiful! I love Monet. The MFA in Boston has a number of his paintings. Gorgeous.
