THE GREEN Party-backed push for a recount of Pennsylvania's presidential election results will get its day in federal court.
U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond on Tuesday ordered a Friday hearing to consider the party's request for a forensic examination of voting machines used across the state and a statewide recount of paper ballots.
The proceeding will take place just days before the Dec. 13 federal deadline for the state to certify its votes, setting up a tight window for the examination should the judge allow it to proceed.
"This is a step toward ensuring that voters of this state know their voices are heard," said Ilann Maazel, a lawyer for former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein. "We hope the court grants this injunction immediately, to allow the timely completion of this effort."
Stein has spearheaded the recount effort in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, Rust Belt states that provided crucial and narrow victories to President-elect Donald Trump on his march to the White House. Her attorneys have argued that the electronic voting machines used in Pennsylvania are highly susceptible to computer hacking but have offered no evidence to suggest that any manipulation occurred during the Nov. 8 vote.
Instead, they point to reports of hacking attempts on voting systems in other states such as Arizona and Illinois and the theft and publication of emails from top-ranking officials at the Democratic National Committee this year.
The Republican Party and Trump, who won Pennsylvania by about 44,000 votes, have opposed the recount push.

My dad is elderly (90’s) & hears poorly so he tends to talk loudly. We were all out to dinner with some company from out of state last week & dad got to talking politics a bit. Our waitress, based on looks, was a likely Hilly voter .... my mom thought she was a guy, if that gives you a clue. Anyway, we got a few semi-evil looks when she overheard dad (I was trying desperately to change the subject). Fortunately, the food was already served, I didn’t get any more water & had no room for dessert ..... she was politely frosty when she brought the bill and from that & the ‘looks’, I know she was “perturbed” with us.
@MAGAtrump5 posted it over at The_Donald. He’s a GOP rule expert and lawyer, who’s been covering all of this very well.
I’d follow them if you’re on Twitter, because they release info/updates before anyone else.
Thanks - I did know that & it helps the situation somewhat. Still, the Dems/Hilly/Soros are SO evil (& have so much at stake) that in my mind, it’s “not over ‘til it’s over” i.e. DJT is sworn in.
:) To heck with her.
Wow. politics. I had our folk behind me in a perkins on Staten Island, which is YUGE conservative, but they were all pro clinton, bashing Trump.
I changed my seat because at 48 i’m too old or a brawl :)
I wish your dad well and I pray he sees a century!
Legally, Stein has no standing to bring the recount - SHE IS NOT THE AGGRIEVED - HER COUNTING IS NOT UNDER SUSPICION OF CAUSING HER TO LOSE HER ELECTION.
WITHOUT THIS STANDING .. SHE HAS CAUSED A LOT OF WORK FOR THESE STATES .. AND I THINK THE STATES SHOULD SUE THE DNC FOR PUTTING HER UP TO IT; TO FORCE THE DNC TO PICK UP THE TAB.
And, if there’s anybody left in the DNC who has a brain; they should send the bill to Hillary.
He has advanced heart failure & was praying he’d make it to Nov. 8 to cast a vote for Trump and he did. I was so happy for him, in particular, that Trump won - if Hilly had won, I think the depression would have taken him down in a hurry. We all stayed up watching the returns come in & it was like a dream when they called it for Trump - still pinching ourselves every now & again, actually! :-) “Winning” ... nothing like it - thank you, President Trump!

I am sorry.
I am glad though, that he got to see that the country was going to be great again.
I wish him peace and comfort as long as he is among us.
