He simply ordered a recount to begin because IF the MI courts allowed the recount to go forward, there might not be enough time to satisfy their order.Again, he said the recount was to continue until his court and only his court said it could stop.

I believe the AG already has a motion before the SC to stop the recount.

I would guess they do. Stein/Clinton/Soros will argue that the same logic that got the recount started before the state courts ruled in the first place still applies because the court of last appeal hasn’t ruled yet on the merits.

Stein is not paying a dime in MI, except for her lawyer fees. MI law stipulates that taxpayers pay for recounts. That law will be changed ASAP, as I understand it.

Goldschmidt's own wording suggested that he could dissolve his own order pending the MI finding.Got a link for this?

The federal judge is going to defer to the state courts per the Sixth Circuit’s ruling.
If the state courts want to halt the recount, the federal order mandating continuance of the recount will probably be lifted.
Stein can appeal the abeyance to the MISC. I expect it to be affirmed.

Correct, but that's pretty standard. He doesn't want them stopping the recount until all state remedies have been exhausted.
If he's as big a jerk as he seems to be, he may very well try to stall even after the MI Supreme Court affirms the appellate finding.
In that case, the AG will go to the US appeals court again and ask them to vacate his order.

That law is ridiculous and probably very old. Maybe from when candidates did not ask for recount for NO FREAKIN REASON.

if goldsmith had allowed the two day period, none of this mess would be happening right now.And that was the POINT. Thank you. No one else seems to get how sinister that judge was in forcing us to scramble at midnight. I got no less than 4 calls from the MI GOP while home on Monday.
It was a punitive response and an arrogant one as well. He serves his potus appointer well.

Yeah well, Doctor Stein...should be scrutinized within an inch of harassment in order to bring all involved parties into the open.
