He was a very cool guy. The King of England owed his father a lot of money, so he gave Penn the part of North America currently known as Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Penn designed a city, now known as Philadelphia, although Mr. Penn might not like how it turned out.

William Penn, like President Elect Trump, made his career in real estate development.

Thank you. That's one of the things I really like about FR; there's always someone who knows historical facts. And how the heck could I forget William Penn? I am from a generation that had a fairly good education in history (graduated HS in '65, college in '70).

I'm kind of a history buff, but I tend to have more interest in military history and the history of warfare. I guess I should rephrase my earlier question: who runs the website BillyPenn?

Guess I should have read the “about” on the site:

“Billy Penn is a mobile-first platform designed to connect citizens to relevant news and information about Philadelphia, and to drive civic engagement via affinity groups and events. The project — from veterans of newsrooms at the Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Digital First Media, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Patriot-News, Tribune Co. and WHYY’s Newsworks — launched in October 2014.”
