Retired Army Gen. David Petraeus, who is vying for the top diplomatic post in the next administration, said Sunday he did not cast a ballot in last month's presidential election.
"I don't vote, so that's an easy answer," Petraeus told ABC News when asked if he backed President-elect Trump in his campaign against defeated Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.

I think, have thought since I first heard it that floating Petraeus’ name as SoS was a sort of in your face to people who thought Clinton being so cavalier about state secrets was okay.
It was reminding the left and the democrats that it isn’t okay, and daring them to say something just to prove his point. I don’t believe Petraeus was ever a serious contender.
Yeah, I think obama pushed a lot of the non-libs out.
I think you may be right there, Duchess. So much strategy and thought behind it all. DJT plays advanced chess. Simple me just plays checkers, ha.
As a nation, I am sure we could do a whole lot better than Petraeus, Corker, Romney, etc. As much as I think Bolton is a warmonger, the job would be to reflect the policies of DJT, not his own. If it has to be one of the already named, Bolton brings the best stature and good experience to the position.
Maybe DJT will end up surprising us all with his SOS pick. After all, he sure did with his VP choice! : )
LOL, yes he did with Pence and I will bet he will continue to do so. I am so enjoying watching this.
If that is true, and it is consistent with his demonstrated lack of integrity - then what we have here is another perfumed prince - a clone of Weasely whatshis face.
Philosophically stunted cuck.
A number of people who didn’t or might not have voted for DJT are under consideration. Did Nikki Haley vote for him? We can be pretty sure Romney didn’t. We can be pretty sure Bolton did, and can be damned sure Giuliani did.
He is another of the many pentagon traitors that groveled begore the usurper.
General Betrayus earned his status. F’em.
I never agreed with this view, but from thier perspective, choosing a candidate and casting a vote impinge upon the apolitical nature of the military. It is an ironic view, given the effort DOD puts into voting assistance effort. However to a minority of officers and career NCOs it is an article of faith.
Personally, I always voted, but kept my political opinions to myself and my wife. I did have to occasionally chew the asses of junior officers and NCOs who ran off at the mouth about political issues in front of their subordinates, or brought thier opinions into the workplace (even if I thought they were right). Partisan politics has no place within a military organization.
