What stein wants is to have the state decision tied up in the courts so the electors for that state can’t vote.
That’s what a Wisconsin congressman said.
I’m sure he could be wrong and smarter people on here know what’s what.
What Stein “wants” and what she gets are two different things. There is no way to steal this election all the machinery is lined up against it and Republicans are in charge of the machinery.
Tying up the recount will not stop the appointment according to the actual count. That slate will present its credentials to the House NO MATTER WHAT and they will be accepted.
Maybe they’re trying to get Trump below 270 by delays or turning electors against Trump, then the House picks the President and the Senate picks the VP. With Senators like Lindsey Graham, they may pick a democrat for VP. I think this might be Hillary’s “hail Mary”.
In the “Wisconsin State Journal,” this question and answer was given:
Question: What happens if the recount isn’t completed by then?
Answer: If the recount is certified by Dec. 13, the state’s results are guaranteed under federal law to direct which candidate electors vote for on Dec. 19. After Dec. 13, Congress could vote to choose which candidate gets Wisconsin’s votes, with the governor breaking any tie between the House and Senate.
I think the Congress will let Wisconsin’s original 10 electoral votes stand.
