Yea my son said that morale was down in the Marine Corps, and after I spoke to the DI’s at Parris Island, and others then I can see why.
DI’s were instructed to not swear to recruits, they do of course. The amount of regulations now in the Marines is out of this world.
When I served we would have a fight with a pal, and then go out to drink later. Now if one gets i a fight there can be charges.

Hopefully now the Marine Corps will be changed to more of a fighting unit, and those who cannot , or should not be there will be thrown out, or never make it through boot camp.

Thanks to your son for his service, and could he not rejoin seeing as he just left?

It was my nephew. I’ll relay your thanks. The Corps did an outstanding job of helping the guys leaving the Corps find jobs (mechanical engineer + USMC officer). He had 12 companies interested in him, 6 on-site interviews, and 3 offers! He just started a month ago at his new company. He’s having a bit of a rough go at adjusting to corporate engineering life. I’m sure he could re-up, but I don’t think he’s ready to do that. He’s enjoying time with his wife and 3 year old girl at home - didn’t see much of them in recent years.
