The word I would use is SMART not SELFISH
You are lucky you get 4X for cards.. we just get 10cents off for every $50 purchase so If We give $50 card it is only 10cents off. It all adds up however and last time I got gas at GetGo I had 1.00 off. that was from many months and a couple gift cards (for me).. apple bees, Macaroni Grill, chipotle etc

Smart, actually. Even disregarding the points savings, buying gift cards throughout the year for holiday giving helps the budget.
I even have a friend that buys gift cards throughout the year to do her OWN holiday shopping! She knows she’ll be buying at Bass Pro, Kohls, etc., for gifts, so gets the cards, gets points, and doesn’t bust her budget. Win-win!!
One year I had to quickly buy GC’s for customers. I’d forgotten my store club card (for the 4x points) and tried my phone number. That didn’t work, so I tried Sis’ phone number.....
Guess who got ALL of those gas points? Sis was beyond thrilled, about that!
