A masked man carrying a knife and a sawn-off shotgun has killed a woman after bursting into a retirement home for monks in southwestern France, local officials said.
The body of a woman was found by officers. She had been stabbed several times The suspect remained at large.
"An individual, who was masked and armed with a knife and a sawn-off shotgun came into the retirement home where 70 monks live," one source said, adding that the man's motivations were unknown.
The dead woman was thought to have contacted police before she was killed with a knife.
"Nothing at this stage would indicate that this would be a terrorist act," another source said.
70 monks are thought to live in the home that is in Montferrier-sur-Lez, north of Montpellier.

So would I, but it’s not a sure win ... sometimes it’s others, like the Oklahoma City bombing, for which I Was There. (In the city, that is. All the relatives called and asked, “Were you blown up?” and we said, “What?”)
20%????? That is huge & scary. Had no idea the percent was that high.
Nah, this looks like it was specific. A Jihadi would have gone on a rampage.
Wikipedia says the Moslem population of France, as of 2015, is 5% to 10%. I will note that’s 100% variance, but it’s still, at most, 50% of 20%.
However, Wikipedia also says that only 33% of French citizens believe there is a God or life force or higher power or some kind of spiritual something or other. Even allowing for the crap one gets from survey results and sampling, one can reasonably believe that a surprising number of those roughly 1/3 who have some kind of God-thing going on are Moslem.
