Top Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway said she is receiving a deluge of comments about the possibility of Mitt Romney being selected as secretary of State.

"Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney," Conway said, linking to a story about Trump loyalists who are unhappy with the possibility.

She also stressed loyalty as a key trait for a secretary of State in a follow-up tweet.

He’s Cubanadian, an internationalist if I ever saw one.

KellyAnne doesn’t have “neo-con buddies.” She’s the most conservative member of Trump’s staff by far. She clearly is opposed to Romney but Trump is leaning towards picking him. Like Trump said repeatedly, until he got in the race, he was as establishment as anybody.

I don’t see any value in giving Romney a job. He adds nothing. His influence is massively on the decline, why give him a shot in the arm now? Preibus made sense, Haley to an extent does too.

Just look at some of the things he has said about Trump. In fact, just ignore that, look at his political record. A complete and utter fraud.

If I was Trump, I’d be creating all sorts of roles, maybe centered around business and economic growth, and giving people like Romney those roles.

The SOS is one of the most visible representatives of the American government. Romney doesn’t deserve that. Thats just rewarding your enemy, for reasons unknown.

I hope someone like Rudy gets it.

But ultimately Trump won, he did it his own way, including some pretty big promises. If he delivers them, then all is fine by me. If he doesn’t - he will be out in 4 years. It would be disastrous for our movement if doesn’t deliver.

PARROTING THE PROPAGANDA

Trump did not lose the popular vote.

So, are you suggesting that Trump won the popular vote? I don't think I will use that argument without the kind of proof I believe would have been manifested had the #nevertrumpers not have carried their protest all the way through Election day.

If your point is that no one won the popular vote, then read my post again.

Blessings,

Colin Powell didn’t exhibit much loyalty to W in the long run. Romney will get in there and get out before 2020 in time to sling “insider” dirt on Trump before the election that the media will gobble up.

Lots of “concern” trolls questioning every move he makes or is rumored to be thinking about - one of them claims, “He deserves the very best” and never bothers to think that he won despite a lot of their advice and what he really deserves is a little trust - he’s been a lot truer than many of them with their panties all wadded up because they have base opinions and emotions and none of the actual thought processes that are behind what he may or may not do....

If there’s one thing Romney’s NOT good at, it’s communication.

Bolton actually has foreign policy experience. Romney has what experience to bring to the table?

The only thing I can think of is that it was Romney who cleaned up after the International Olympic Committee bribery scandal during the Salt Lake City games when Romney took over the lead when it was failing.

His work with IOC President Dr. Jacques Rogge to manage the international fallout was probably his only real foreign policy experience.

Thank you. You have been a leader the whole time, and your loyalty to principles is that much more compelling.

So many are so hopeful for a change from the same, stale, tired oligarch lackeys... A frankly bizarre selection of the talentless, charmless, vapid Romney would actually damage the high levels of popular support for Trump. It certainly will not bring in those who have sworn their opposition to him.

How could you ever trust him again? Seriously.

If there is ANY doubt about him, then there is NO doubt about him.

My preference is already stated, which is for Romney to bow out. But I trust Trump in the end, and if he selects Romney, I am not going to go around with my nose out of joint.

There is a sliver of me that still thinks people can put aside personal animosity to serve the country, and do so with putting the country first.

I'm comfortable with the selections of Nikki Haley and Betsy DeVos. It is a big task to staff an executive administration, and Trump does not seem to think that exclusion of consideration of the best qualified choices for a particular post is the best path to follow.

I agree that at some level, understanding what elected Trump is an important qualification, so I would expect Trump to make sure the people chosen to serve understand what our priorities are and commitment to accomplishing them the chief goal.
