ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The FBIs Albuquerque office has launched an investigation after a suspected arsonist set several fires at a pro-life ministry near San Mateo and Marquette.
FBI spokesman Frank Fisher said the fires sparked shortly after midnight, damaging the office of Project Defending Life at 625 San Mateo NE. A chapel inside the building was also damaged.
Nobody was injured in the fires, and firefighters quickly put it out. The Project Defending Life sits directly across from a Planned Parenthood clinic.
The FBI is working with the Albuquerque Fire Department on the investigation, and Fisher asked the public for help finding the suspect.
Anyone with information about these fires or who recalls seeing anything suspicious in the area at the time of the fires is asked to call the FBI (24 hours) at 505-889-1300, Fisher said.

NM is one of the states that allow late-term abortions and there is a fetal-tissue controversy with the Univ. of NM getting the tissue for research. (See accompanying article).

Best wishes for a quick restoration and resumption of care for mothers and babies. I expect the arsonist will be unable to resist bragging on Facebook or other sites.
Hope that's the case as the FBI will be monitoring them.
BTW, pictures of the fire damaged building at the link.
I saw that. They had a nice Guadalupe chapel. It was funny that the caption said the fires were started by a “suspected arsonist,” as if there were any other possibility ... say, someone who broke in because he was cold and set several fires, especially in the chapel.
A big condo complex under construction in Nob Hill was torched last night as well, not too far from this ministry.
Yes, it’s those hateful Trump-supporting pro-life hetero Christians that make me so fearful now...
Pro-life and other conservative organizations and people are facing more than a month of rage attacks by liberals and leftists. So many conservatives now own guns, but if at all possible, they need to carry them as well for self defense.
Cameras are much less useful than people think. If an attacker is wearing a hoodie and/or a mask, the odds of catching them are so small that cameras don’t even stop them from acting.
Perhaps this fascist, Local244, Lieutenant firefighter has some thoughts...

Insurance fraud?
The article said the fire department did not believe the fires were related.
Probably not, new apartments in that part of town are money magnets.
And Happy Thanksgiving for you and your whole bunch!
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! Are you having javelina, or something average?
We’re missing Anoreth, in Seattle, and Tom, who has gone to South Carolina with a group of friends who are home from college ... but that means we have enough seats if we crowd together.
No javelina... maybe jackrabbit smothered in green chile. ;)
Might be great! As my cats say, “MEAT!!!”
Given that Mr. Matthew Blanchfield has doubled down, and gone national at telling the world how much he hates and will NOT do business with Trump supporters or Republicans, and also given that he’s an ABQ fireman, what will HE do, and instruct those firefighters he’s in charge of to do when they are called to a fire such as this one? Is it even possible that he has enough of a split personality disorder that he can hate a certain demographic and refuse service to them in one instance, but then in another situation (being called to a fire of a pro-life ministry, or a car wreck where the car may have a Trump bumper sticker) and be able to turn off his hatred and actually provide life saving service on the other hand? Seems to me that he’d need to have multiple personalities in order to pull that one off. It’s probably far more likely that when he receives a call to a fire such as this, that he will be tempted to not respond quickly, and will NOT make the same efforts at saving the building or lives as he would if it were the Planned Parenthood building across the street. I think the same would hold true at the scene of a two car accident where one car had a Trump sticker and the other a Bernie sticker.
