President-elect Donald Trump has selected former GOP presidential candidate and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson as the head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, a spokesman for Mr. Carson said.
The spokesman, Armstrong Williams, said Mr. Carson was offered the HUD secretary post and has accepted it.

We will see but I would be surprised if any cabinet positions are abolished. In any event I would expect Trump to fill the cabinet positions as they are first and see how it works .. or doesn't ... and then go from there.
Yes, but Dr. Carson grew up in the slums of Detroit. He understands the plight of inner cities. Not sure what the scope of his duties will be, however.
If he believes Joseph built the pyramids to store grain, I suppose you could say his archaeology is off.

If Trump had announced that he was planning to close down HUD, then gave the job to Dr. Carson, the press would be proclaiming that Trump "had given him a Dead End Job".
One of the cornerstones of the trump campaign is reviving the inner cities. HUD will do that
actually businesses and people will do that and Dr Ben will be directing the operations
Also, he may kill off the onerous social work grants that wre totally ineffective. SEIU might really be bitching aand moaning about their losses

Sorry to expose your ignorance. Because Carson was picked by Trump, that makes him an Uncle Tom. As everyone knows, Uncle Toms aren’t officially black.
I think that Dr. Carson lived in public housing as a child;
so has had firsthand experience in that area. He would not
like a ceremonial job.
