Michigan mega-donor: Trump doesn't represent GOP [3/7/16: Betsy Devos endorsed Rubio]
Washington Examiner ^ | 3/7/16 | Jason Russell

For many years, the biggest name in Michigan Republican politics has been DeVos.

With billions of dollars in Amway wealth, the family has long backed conservative causes across the country, including school choice.

The DeVos family backed Romney in 2012. Its support may have been crucial for him as he squeaked past Rick Santorum by three points to notch a crucial win before Super Tuesday.

On Feb. 25, the family picked its horse in the 2016 GOP primary: Marco Rubio...

DeVos:

As the field has continued to narrow, after Gov. [Jeb] Bush exited the race, we felt it appropriate and an important time to lend our voice...

...I think that the prospects from here for Rubio are significantly brighter than they are for Cruz.

I don't think Donald Trump represents the Republican Party. I continue to be very optimistic that as we get further along into the process, the more voters know about him, and the more informed they are, the more they're going to continue to break away. ... I think more and more people are going to realize that they really don't trust him. The more they learn about his record, they're going to break away and go to an alternate.

...I don't think he represents the Republican Party. I think he is an interloper.

...The more people understand the totality of Donald Trump and what he stands for, I am confident and convinced they are going to look to an alternative to support.

...First of all, to acknowledge that education is primarily a state and local issue... It's a serious missed opportunity if our candidates and the eventual nominees of both parties are not highlighting the issue of school choice.

To me Trump is more of a right wing democrat who has no party since it has been taken over by the socialists ,communists and American haters, so why not run as a Republican.
To run as an Independent would put the Socialists, Communists and American haters back in charge. -Tom

Purpose other than stirring the pot?

Other "concerns" about her have already been debunked. She obviously has accepted the election of Trump and he thinks she has value to to his agenda - HIS agenda....

Purpose is getting back to what Savage said a few days ago. How different is this cabinet going to look from what Jeb Bush’s cabinet would’ve been? Jeb would’ve picked Haley, Preibus, Devos and Romney too. Bannon and Sessions are Trumpist picks, but now half if not a majority of the picks are from the #nevertrump wing.

Bannon, Sessions, Flynn, James “Mad Dog” Mattis, Pompeo. Don't lie by omission. Also Romney hasn't been selected yet.

No different than when Reagan went up against the Rockefeller Republicans.

They don’t respect you until you win.

Ancient history.

Some people just don’t want to be united to defeat Demon Rats.

Trump is proving to be a uniter. And believe me, he will lead.

It’s about half and half so far. Mattis isn’t official yet and would need a waiver from Congress since he was in the military in the past 7 years.

She was a good political choice. But there’s no denying she’s GOPe, and the penultimate one in the state of Michigan.

A lot of people were wary of Mr. Trump back in March and supported other candidates. But as the primary merged with the general, virtually all right thinking people were behind The Donald.

He’s putting together one heck of a governing team to MAGA.

Dear Michigan Mega-dumber;

Sit down. Brace yourself.

Trump is the top Republican in the nation right now.

He essentially is the party right now.

Boo hoo huh.

Get a crying towel and get it over with.

Then grow up.

Isn’t this interesting! He isn’t choosing people who might kiss his behind! He’s actually picking people who don’t care for HIM, but who have a passion for their own particular field of interest..

Just like his son-in-law isn’t a republican, but a democrat, yet helped him to win the presidency.

Awesomesauce!
