GOOD GRIEF .. JUST CHANGE THE CHANNEL ..!!!
When their ratings drop to the basement, the advertisers will find another more popular place.
It’s that simple.
Besides, calling advertisers doesn’t work .. especially since most of those buys are a bulk product; meaning the ads are run at several places at the same time.
JUST CHANGE THE CHANNEL .. it worked for FOX.
I stopped doing biz with at least 3 of the entities, long ago. Wells Fargo and Geico are in my top 10 to avoid.
It is a token perhaps, yet... it is also perhaps more than a token:
(1) if you ever have to shop for a big ticket item sold by any of these vendors and it is down to that vendor or someone else, now you have a reason to choose someone else;
(2) if one of these vendors ever cold calls you, now you have a polite but solid reason to walk away or hang up (tell them why before you walk away or hang up); and
(3) it makes you feel so very good.
See the spicy commentary on Reddit
Get rid of cable and satellite TV services. Over half of their revenue comes from the carriage fees.
Its Bash Trump every nite.
Its entertaining. But not news.
Doesn’t that make CNN a fake news site?
I’m in. If that means my family and I spending all day calling or emailing then s be it, but CNN needs to be held accountable for their lying , biased reporting.
Hmm... Sounds drastic (but now that I am committed, and since i could actually use the money lol, ...)
Cool a list, I haven’t watched CNN in over 35 years.
Geico does have some excellent commercials. But, I have Allstate, so what the heck.
Joseph Banks makes low-quality threads.
We can't boycott everything. Even the internet line we're using is owned by libs.
Not drastic at all. I use Roku and it’s way better than cable. Internet, TV, google phone for 42 bucks a month.
University of Phoenix is a for profit school, run by a far-left radical.
You missed the point.
Every program is RATED .. it’s rated by the number of people who tune in to watch. Don’t ask me how they do that .. but I’ve worked in media and I can tell you they do rate the programs.
So .. when the number of people watching gets fewer and fewer, as people get fed up with all the CNN lies about almost everything .. the advertisers will pull their spots, and that REVENUE IS LOST TO THE STATION.
Ok .. GET IT ..?????
NOT WATCHING THE CHANNEL IS THE BEST WAY.
THERE IS NO FORMAL BOYCOTTING .. YOU JUST DON’T WATCH THE STATION. THAT’S IT ..!!!!
I curently have comcast cable tv. iirc, a year ago they roped me into a 3 year contract in order so that i could save $30/mo.
anyways i believe that certain channels such as CNN and ESPN come with every bundle offered by comcast. i wonder if this is part of the problem given the continuous left-biased homogeneity in the news these days, emphasizing a canned set of liberal talking points even after the elections are finished. these guys have it good if we are actually paying them to brainwash us (!?!)
I read somewhere (perhaps on an fr thread) that internet TV is the future and cable is the past. Certainly Trump must know this. His disparaging of the MSM newsprint and cable TV shows and adoption of twitter seems like a prescient bet on newer technology at the expense of older technology almost as much as rage against the dominant MSM.
If I have one roku (or roku-type) dongle and three TVs, must I buy two more roku-type dongles?
Also if I live in earthquake country, is over-reliance on a land based (internet cable) carrier advisable (knowing that I can probably always get wireless cell data which is more reliable in earthquake situations, eg 1994 Northridge earthquake)?
I agree with that.
But the rating people don’t care about that .. they’re counting viewers .. and they report to the advertisers .. and then it’s up to the advertisers what to do.
OK, I’ll definitely boycott the HEC Paris MBA Program.
