That was my first thought. By making it seem like they (the media) discovered something, it gets more play then if the administration just announces it.

This clearly puts everyone on notice that Trump plans on keeping his promise about the “wall” and deportation.

I am sure some thought he did not really mean what he said.

Now they know.

Remember, the press has been putting out the narrative that “Trump was backing off his promises”.

Now the idiots, in an effort to do a “gotcha” (although I still wouldn’t get how this would be), are reporting that he in fact is NOT backing off his promises.

Or they thought that the relentless attacks of Democrats, RINOs, media and open-border big business would force him to back down.

They are learning that Trump cannot be bought, scared or embarrassed into backing down!

I think you have the gist of it. Also notice the little points about voter registration below his cuff. This also telegraphs to supporters that Trump is sticking with the program...
