How about a chance not a shot ?
Paraphrasing Clay, Johnson said, “Black Americans should have no permanent friends, and no permanent enemies, just permanent interests.”
Trump doesn’t do drugs. They can give Courtney Love a shot.
That’s mighty white of him.
Uh-oh. Now he’s done it. Look for the Uncle Tome meme to explode in the Twitter-verse along with calls for him to resign.
Since the issues facing the black "community" are primarily caused by the BEHAVIOR of a substantial plurality of their own people, it would be racist of us to comment upon or offer suggestions regarding correcting those issues. Few of the "community" will even admit to a problem within; they'll just blame those outside. That's us (apologies to non-white FReepers, no offense intended, and you guys ain't the problem anyway).
Trump campaigned on job opportunities, safe neighborhoods, excellent schools. All three of these have suffered under Obama. It's good that some blacks in leadership roles are waking up. The Democratic Party keeps them on the plantation, but provides NOTHING for those who want to move up the ladder.
More wins!
Trump’s outreach to the inner cities could really pay off in 4 years. He should enlist Kanye in the effort (this generation’s Sammy Davis Jr.). The program includes tax reductions for manufacturing and jobs, educational choice, better health care, real jobs for welfare recipients and job training, tough prison sentences for gun crimes, and community-based policing to keep the streets safe. Rudy knows how well just a little bit better government works. In 4 years, he might be up to 40 percent, which would just about doom the Dems.
“That’s where African-American voters should be,” Johnson contended, saying he does not view Trump and the Republicans as enemies or friends. African-Americans have “permanent interests,” he said.
RATHER A CURIOUS turn of words. Usually employed by sovereign countries when describing relationships with other countries.
Give white people and asians a shot on BET.
Where are the shows? : )
So what are the interests that Black Americans have I wonder?
I am an American and I have interests, but I really in my entire life thought by going to meet the President was going to address my interests.
I saw by example what happened in my house,Father went to work,Mom sometimes also,I was expected to work also,so I did,my first paying job was shining shoes in a shoemaker shop, was to young for working papers
I had to shine the brass mailboxes and railings in the lobby of the apartment building where we lived in the basement,my father was assistant superintendent of the building, then had to light the incinerator, shovel out the assessing garbage cans and truck them out to the curb, then I did my homework in my spare time.
Of course at my current age,66,I am aware of politics,so I guess we have evolved, then I hope the new President can create The environment for young people and their parents to have the same opportunities I and millions of others had growing up to learn a good work ethic
