Shattuck: Cast in a bad light, Dems’ theatrics wearing thin

Add the cast of “Hamilton: An American Musical” to the growing list of crybabies.

Vice President-elect Mike Pence, who gracefully attended the Broadway play Friday night at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City, ended up with an earful of thespian tantrum at the end of the show.

In a statement written in the style of Keith Olbermann, actor Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr, declared: “We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir.”

Many liberals are less afraid of him than of the men he is surrounding himself with — standard Republicans.

But that is all it takes to throw them into a panic because anyone with any thought divergent from progressive ideals is deemed evil to some degree.

It’s a simple and easy world view, but it is a world view of children like the cast of “Hamilton,” not the men they are supposed to portray.

Funny........ they are portraying men of honor, integrity, strength, pride morals, virtue and masculinity. Men who risked it all so these unAmerican snowflakes can make a living and live in freedom. Un grateful bastards who never learned about American history but think they know everything

Theater is intended to divert the audience into another time and place for a time. This ‘spell’ the players put on the audience is not to be broken by distractions like tech failures or actors getting out of character, and the audience should be allowed to keep the muse of it for a bit even after the curtain call.

This rant is very unprofessional.

What’s even more ironic to their “historical” whining is that it was Hamilton who brought us the electoral college. Yea, lecture us you dumb schnitz.

Where was this sentiment when Obama and his ilk were attacking Christian businesses for not wanting to participate in gay marriage activities? Oh, that's right, some rights are more inalienable than others.

Let me see if I have this right. An actor who is a member of an all black cast assembled by a policy of “no whites need apply” is lecturing the next VP of the USA about diversity. Is this actor too stupid to see the irony? Yesterday some FReeper pointed out that the irony probably was not lost on Pence which is exactly why he went.

Pence and his entire entourage should demand full refunds. I would have if I had been in attendance.

The cast that portrays the people who founded our country are nothing like them.

I can’t think of one person in public life who is like that indomitable generation.

And they don’t emulate its values. Quite frankly, they’re an American embarrassment and punch joke line.

I’m talking about the elites in our country.

They do not believe in even the idea of rights.

They only believe in power. They have been completely indoctrinated.

actor Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr......The highlight of Burr’s tenure as president of the senate (one of his few official duties as vice president) was the Senate’s first impeachment trial, that of Supreme Court justice Samuel Chase. In 1804, the last full year of his single term as vice president, Burr killed his political rival Alexander Hamilton in a famous duel—a man whom he had rescued during the Revolutionary War. Burr was never tried for the illegal duel, and all charges against him were eventually dropped, but Hamilton’s death ended Burr’s political career.

Diversity = non-white
That’s how a small town can shift from 90% white to 90% hispanic and liberals celebrate the “diversity” of it.
