(CNN)A Georgia legislator said Thursday he will withdraw a bill that would have banned Muslim women from wearing burqas or veils while driving or when their driver's license photos are taken. State Rep. Jason Spencer, on his official Facebook page, cited "the visceral reaction" created by the proposed legislation as his reason for withdrawing it.
"While this bill does not contain language that specifically targets any group, I am mindful of the perception that it has created. My objective was to address radical elements that could pose a threat to public safety," wrote Spencer.

Your frothing support for government-imposed dress codes is noted and disapproved.
You got that right. For thirty one years I have watched the libtard license plates from up north NY and Chicago showing up in Atlanta. They have all but destroyed the southern culture of the city. Its Austin on the Chattahoochee now.
If you think any woman in the world gets up in the morning dreaming of another 24 hours stumbling around in A black shroud you need counseling. There is nothing free about the “forced” removal of women’s presence from society. That is the essence of the burka. It’s not liberation its imprisonment.
So in the interest of full disclosure did your buddies at CAIR help you sign up for FR 8 days ago? Just saying. :-)
In the land of the free we need to RECOGNIZE threats to our security and future as a nation. Would we have allowed a uniformed NAZI to walk our streets freely in 1943?
We have been at war with Islam since the 70’s. Stop your ignorant preaching of what FREEDOM is. Stop the invasion in its tracks.
You’re a fool. OUTLAW the Burka!
Don’t stop there, outlaw muslims!
Women of all sorts of backgrounds are "imprisoned" by their husbands in all sorts of ways ... are you sure you want government banning all those "imprisonments"?

And here come the personal attacks. I have no buddies on nor any association with CAIR nor any Muslim organization.
A person's clothing is not (except for a narrow range of circumstances) a threat to our security and future as a nation.
Would we have allowed a uniformed NAZI to walk our streets freely in 1943?
The freedom-loving response is not to ban but to condemn, shun, and ostracize - and, of course, to defend individuals' and organizations' right to do so.
The full phrase was “politically correct party line” and I read it often in RCP, Spartacist and CP literature in my misspent youth. It is now being employed in the fascist destruction of freedom of expression under the rubric of “hate speech”. Leftism has evolved into basically being the left wing of the latter day Nazi Internationale.
You are obviously well indoctrinated by the Love Islam bunch!

Oh, snap.

So now you’re a racist, etc. etc. etc.
So now youre a racist, etc. etc. etc.
Grow the government, or grow a backbone ... the choice is yours.
My choice is a backbone which I have! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Muslims are not compatible with our Constitutional Republic. They should not be encouraged to tear down America as they have done in the rest of the world where they have set foot!
Ah, so you'll be condemning, shunning, and ostracizing rather than banning - and not worrying about being called a racist. Excellent.
They should not be encouraged to tear down America
Wearing a burqa cannot tear down America - we (well, most of us) are much stronger than that.
You are full of BS. I will look for banning any and all muslims as they cannot assimilate into our society. It is against their political “religion,” which is not a religion at all. THEY declared wae on Christianity and I will NOT aid and abet them.
How long have you been around here? Whatever....keep it up and you will NOT last long!
Okaaay! So now you have made the leap from freedom of religion to defense of the imprisonment of women. CAIR much? :-)
Women of all sorts of backgrounds are "imprisoned" by their husbands in all sorts of ways ... are you sure you want government banning all those "imprisonments"?
Okaaay! So now you have made the leap from freedom of religion to defense of the imprisonment of women.
No, that's not what happened.
You need to regroup your argument has ground to a stop. LOL!
