(CNN)A Georgia legislator said Thursday he will withdraw a bill that would have banned Muslim women from wearing burqas or veils while driving or when their driver's license photos are taken. State Rep. Jason Spencer, on his official Facebook page, cited "the visceral reaction" created by the proposed legislation as his reason for withdrawing it.
"While this bill does not contain language that specifically targets any group, I am mindful of the perception that it has created. My objective was to address radical elements that could pose a threat to public safety," wrote Spencer.

How do you say P*SSY!
What the hell is the problem with banning veils in a drivers license photo?
Can I wear a skull mask and say it’s my religion?
And unless it’s below freezing, anyone wearing a face cover should be considered suspicious.
Pussy - he’s part of the problem - if the bad guys squeal, cater to them.....
That is the problem with ALL of the elected officials in Georgia, then they scratch their heads and wonder why the most populated counties votes against them.
Pussy - hes part of the problem - if the bad guys squeal, cater to them.....
“”My objective was to address radical elements that could pose a threat to public safety””
He got it right - RADICAL ELEMENTS - why change or withdraw it? Also part of the bill was to deny drivers licenses or ID from anyone covering their face. Who on earth could take issue with that? Good Lord - give us legislators who aren’t afraid of their own shadows.
We have THOSE FEMALES driving taxis in our area and believe me, I don’t believe they ever went near a licensing bureau. Stay well out of their way - they can’t change lanes without near collisions as they can’t see! They have no idea why rear view mirrors were put in cars. A lot different from camels or donkey carts.
Dumb ass...
There is no reverse when you take bold action. Now he’s hated by everyone, not just half the people. 15 minutes of fame are up buddy, step aside...
Atlanta is getting ready to take Georgia down the tubes....things ain't as peachy as they used to be there.
How fast do you think I’d be hauled into jail for wearing a lampshade while driving through Georgia or refusing to take off my sunglasses for my drivers license?
Absolutely true.
Georgia is becoming Pennsylvania.
Atlanta is Philly with grits.
We live at burka ground zero in Gwinnett county. I want those horrific things banned. It gives me the creeps to watch these women at the grocery store with only their eyes showing. That’s just not who we are in America.
Wow....I really hate to hear that. Sharia is spreading so fast here. Hopefully Trump can turn that around.
Banning things because they give you the creeps is not who we are in The Land Of The Free.
France implemented this, but we can’t? WTF?
I know.
Wearing a burka in America today sends the same message as a swastika armband did in 1942.
The freedom-loving response is not to ban but to condemn, shun, and ostracize - and, of course, to defend individuals' and organizations' right to do so.
Spineless dog, must be a demodummie.
Women wearing a garment whose intent is basically to remove them from society is not who we are in America and is certainly not promoting freedom. Wake up!
