I think cops are more nervous today than ever.
I have 2 properties on this street. One on the corner and another 1/2 way up the block. Yesterday while working on the house up the block with my son who lives on the corner, my son received a call that a cop was on our property by my dobie who was/is always on an outside runner.
I drove down the block to ask him what’s up. I had to walk about 150 feet from my truck over to him (unarmed). He had his hand on his gun the entire walk and for about 10 seconds afterwards.
I was not disrespectful in any way but afterwards felt really pissed due to his having his hand on his gun for so long. I’m not a big guy and somewhat old so I can’t see that he could have perceived me as a threat since he was way bigger than me.
I’m actually still kind of pissed today.

I’m elated I don’t live in an area with a police department. The State Police stop coverage in my county at 2300, and the Sheriff’s contract doesn’t start until 0700, so we’re in great hands during those eight hours with no coverage. One can accomplish a heckuvalot in eight hours.

Get over it.

I do not think he could see that you were NOT a suicide bomber.

Most cops have their hands on their guns as they approach a traffic stop!
