The electoral college system was designed to reward broadness, not just overall depth, of appeal.
Donald played that like a violin, as has every other successful presidential candidate who has respected the system.
Well, Bully for them!! Between an incompetent Boob in the white hut, and a career crime-family head as their POTUS candidate, and a "dumb as a stump" voting population, its a wonder they can zip up their pant or tie their shoes without outside help and pre-printed instructions.
There’ll probably BE a new third party to rival the GOP, and then we’ll be talking about another color on the map. Maybe green, or yellow. Political nature abhors vacuums. I am guessing that this new third party will be some form of libertarian. It is conservative in some senses, liberal in others. It is not easy to peg as left or right in our accustomed sense.
Democrats also prevented an autopsy on Justice Scalia’s corpse.
You know, because he was murdered.
Now there is something to look forward to!
No deep analysis needed to explain why Hillary lost. The Democrats ignored white working class people, and white working class people in the Rust Belt told the Democrats to go pound sand.
The circumstances appeared highly suspicious. However, I see a dimension of activity, a spiritual dimension, in the country, both to evil and to good. Was it possible that Scalia simply was in worse health than he could have been, due to being overweight and a smoker. And so really did die of natural causes, though part of them being what he embraced himself. I don’t think that was impossible. Maybe we should make Weight Watchers memberships a perk of being on the USSC (but again that would also help keep Sotomayer around).
God “works all things to the good of those who believe in Him” and maybe the uncertainty of Scalia being gone was part of the formula that revealed to America the importance of supporting an otherwise flawed person like Donald Trump.
Anyhow I’d say it seems suspicious, but there’s no way we can prove it; it isn’t even on the level of Vince Foster.
I think the Dems have already come to the conclusion that they can never again run a White candidate for POTUS. It will depress their base too much. Which is why they will run Cory Booker (Obama II) in 2020.
My hope is that they do to themselves what the Labor party in the UK has done to itself; that is: go so hard Left that they turn themselves into a permanent minority party. As despicable as Hillary was, she was actually a moderate in a Democratic party that is fundamentally communist — and increasingly open about it.
The people who created these “useful idiots” need to be rounded up and sent to a “sensitivity camp” so they can better understand how the white American male and our Constitution really work. Their warped sense of believing white American Christian males are the devils spawn has only proven once again why the Democrats were wrong forcing states to close down mental institutions because of their insensitivity.
Donald played that like a violin, as has every other successful presidential candidate who has respected the system.
My guess is that the game plan was for the election to be Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton—and for Jeb to lose like a “gentlemen”.
Yet they keep beating the same dead horse, that all these voters are stupid/evil.
Why does the same process not occur for conservatives, that is, people who are conservatives become liberals by some mechanism?
The reason is simple, spelled out by David Horowitz in his great book Radical Son. Liberals lack introspection. There is never the need, inclination or even the concept that they should examine their premises or reevaluate their positions. They NEVER look at their beliefs and say "Could I be wrong about this?"
Conservatives engage in that process constantly, as we are bombarded daily with a multitude of viewpoints contradicting our own. As Nancy Pelosi does, Liberals live in a plastic bubble, supplied with air, food and information from the likes of NBC, ABC, CBS, The New York Times, The Boston Globe and The Washington Post.
Heck, if I lived on a steady diet of that, why would I ever take a moment to re-check my premises?
“Im going to smile, because you have 25 Senate seats up in 2018, many in red states, and the GOP needs just eight for a filibuster-proof majority.”
Did not know that. Very encouraging.
Everything in sequence.
First, the stake through the heart. Then was can discuss the autopsy.
This is a good thing. It means they won’t learn from their mistakes. All the better for conservatives.
Related: They only learn from their successes, but they learn the wrong lessons. Example: They think they won in 2008 and 2012 by running a candidate from an oppressed special interest group (black). They were right on that. So they thought it would work with a woman in 2016. It didn’t. Now they are doubling down by putting a muslim in charge of the DNC. I predict that will fare even worse.
and 10ft poles.
Haven’t you forgotten that little bit about a pillow over his face?
