Why the Left Should Be Terrified of a Trump Presidency
The Observer ^ | November 16, 2016 | Michael Malice

Posted on 11/16/2016 2:04:53 PM PST by OddLane

Over the weekend President-elect Trump announced how he plans to staff his administration. Reince Priebus will represent the establishment as chief of staff, traditionally a non-ideological position whose role is enforcing the president’s will. It is with the other names that we finally start to see what Donald Trump’s presidency will look like: Rudy Giuliani, Jeff Sessions, Steve Bannon and even possibly Sarah Palin as secretary of the interior.

The big fear among Trump advocates and critics alike was that the man is a loose cannon, far too volatile to be allowed near the nuclear button. What we see instead is that he is weaving together a basket of dependables. For better or for far worse, each and every person named is a visionary (or an ideologue, if that is more palatable) who views the American left not as the loyal opposition but as Public Enemy No. 1...

“Those are NOT the actions of a “loyal opposition”. “

That the “Overton Window” only moves so fast in any direction. There is a lot of inertia, not to mention resistance from RINOs and Democrats, to overcome.
I am in control of my expectations for President Trump and not inclined toward hysteria in either direction.

Move the capital to Alaska. All of it. To Fairbanks, or maybe Nome. Automatic term limits, ruthlessly enforced by mother nature. Don’t like 50 below? Get out of government.

"Well better Trump than Hillary. She show her unstable side on Election Day night/early Wednesday morning."

Right! If you are a clinton-aid stuck in the forehead by a high velocity nuclear button she's cast in anger, it's gonna leave a mark.

Excellent image! Not only is she being replaced by an immigrant, to a certain extent she'll be expected to train her for the job.

Not only can they give Palin the seceratary of the interior position, they can move
the offices to Alaska.

..............where they will only need one room, one desk, 2 chairs and an answering machine. A part time employee should suffice too.

Plus the assymetric current definition of "compromise". Conservatives give up something that's already the norm, in "exchange" for which the liberals take less movement in their direction than they initially demand (but the movement is still only in one direction).

Thus, the more outrageous their initial demands, the more they stand to have at the end, and they never lose anything in the "compromise", nor do they ever lose any ground punitively if the electorate shifts, they might just lose some or all the gained ground if even that. Thus the rules are rigged so they have nothing to lose, nothing to fear. What needs to happen is that in a real compromise, both sides get something new, and in a case where they try to overreach, conservatives need to make sure libs lose something they already had (a penalty for even trying). Then, they'll have an incentive to try only to do things with wide public support.

So the Obamacare repeal for example. It's not enough to simply return the system to SQA, 12/2009, possibly with some popular features of EbolaScare retained. The new norm must be MORE conservative, MORE oriented toward individual freedom and personal control than what was there before.

Not only can they give Palin the seceratary of the interior position, they can move the offices to Alaska.

A lot of the people at Interior would love that, once they got over the stress of selling their places in Annandale and Germantown, and settling their kids in new schools.

If you want to farm out the agencies to somewhere that will teach them a lesson, send HUD to downtown Detroit and EPA to Houston.

The left should be terrified because Trump understands how to win. Never take the boot off of a snake. Time to vanquish the enemy!

Didn’t read past where the author described the chief of staff position as traditionally a non-ideological position” NON-IDEOLOGOCAL, really? If the author isn’t any smarter or knowledgable than this, the article isn’t worth my time.
