For the second time in a week, president-elect Donald Trump has abandoned precedent and traveled without the "press pool," a small group of journalists assigned to cover his movements. The move Tuesday night has spurred a strong backlash.

obama has done that to him...what about madampickles.........she was out of the press sight for months.
Trump should really rub some salt in the wound and announce that he is forming a new press pool made up of Breitbart, Drudge, etc, with no leftie rags invited :)
Good. I don’t see a problem here.

I see quotes of the Press’ “Great Outrage” at being tricked, but I don’t see any actual ‘backlash’. What form does the backlash take, just another sharply worded memo? Weak.
I’m pretty sure Obama’s Gang treated the press far more shabbily, and they just took it for the most part.
What about Hillary not giving any real press conferences or interviews for over a year? What about when her people ‘rounded the reporters up like lost Cattle?’.
Well done.
Who decided that?
Everyone has cell phone cameras. If anything important happens, we’ll know in a heartbeat. We don’t need the old media. Trump tweets to us.
“...until they start reporting fairly.”
Never is a long, long time.
Family comes first...
“In a highly unusual move, President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday night left his Manhattan residence without notifying the reporters covering him or giving any indication of where he was going. The maneuver seemed to deliberately limit access to the media.”
ROTFLOL!
Better get used to it, buttercups. President Trump won even with every one of you unfairly attacking him continuously 24x7, so he’s proved he doesn’t need you.
Not only that, but ya’ll have all been continuously attacking him 24x7 since he was elected, so you’ve completely liberated him from giving a damn about what any of ya’ll have to say about him now. What are you gonna do, attack him even harder now?
If Trump needs to speak to us, he can do it through social media, not you bozos, though ya’ll are certainly welcome to report his tweets and such, but of course it will no longer be news as we’ll know everything before ya’ll do.
Ya’ll thought President Trump would play by the old rules whereby he would be a good sport as ya’ll continuously attacked him, and he would just sit back and take it. Well, guess what? President Trump doesn’t play by the old rules. In fact, President Trump doesn’t play by anybody’s rules but his own.
So, no more rides by the enemedia on Air Force One, no more enemedia limos in his motorcades, and no more advance notices about anything he does. Well, maybe not exactly completely no advance notice: President Trump will tweet to us what he’s going to do and where he’s going to go, and ya’ll can read about it when we do.
As I said, better get used to it buttercups. And you have no one to blame but yourselves.
You have a good idea. Trump could take the opportunity to start to remake the MSM. Grant access and breaking news first to conservative media, especially OANN and make the regular media go through them to find out what is going on. By doing then, he could assure increases in viewership and revenue to those sites and broadcasters and push CNN and the rest toward irrelevancy.
“It is unacceptable for the next president of the United States to travel without a regular pool to record his movements and inform the public about his whereabouts,” the White House Correspondents Association said in response.”
News Flash from the ASD News Network: Nobody gives a flaming crap what you think is acceptable.
Catchy tune...
I hope to see this President succeed in everything which includes ditching the press at every opportunity should he desire to do so.
Was the “backlash” from anybody important?
