WASHINGTONAnother round of staff changes buffeted President-elect Donald Trumps transition team Tuesday amid resistance from within the Republican Party over a top choice for secretary of state.
Vice President-elect Mike Pence formally signed documents that put him in charge of the transition team, and officials insisted the 10-week effort to build an administration is on schedule. In one of his first moves, Mr. Pence ordered the removal of all lobbyists from the transition team, said one transition team member with knowledge of the decisions.
Earlier Tuesday, former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers, once considered a candidate to lead the Central Intelligence Agency, was ousted from the Trump transition teams national security unit. Matthew Freedman, who was leading the groups planning for the White House National Security Council, also departed. Mr. Freedman didnt return messages seeking comment.
Mr. Rogers was told he was being replaced because everyone who was brought in by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the transition teams original chairman, was being ousted, according to a person familiar with the conversation. Frank Gaffney, a Reagan administration veteran, was brought in to assist on national security issues, as has GOP U.S. Reps. Pete Hoekstra and Devin Nunes.

You’re much too modest. We have more than “a good team going”. We have an OUTSTANDING team going in Trump & Pence.
I hope potential saboteurs (e.g., Paul Ryan & Turtleman) are paying attention and recognize that the Trump team is serious and won’t put up with shenanigans.
That sounds like the most believable explanation.
Yes!
Trump wastes no time.
He knows what he wants and moves on it.
Trump doesn't NEED as much time as someone else would to put personnel in place.
Hell, that's what he does.
Mike Rogers is one of the three Republicans trying to bring back earmarks.
That must be one reason Pence got rid of him.
No, different mike rogers. Earmark rogers from alabama. This one from michigan
Trump’s first major executive decision, his pick for VP, probably was aided by his children. That was a home run and most haven’t realized the ramifications of that pick until now. Pence knows DC inside and out.
The sudden removal of Christie can be attributed to what clearly was a moderate-liberal bent that came to a head and was blunted quickly.
FReepers, Trump is the real deal. When he said he would end the lobbyist hoard he meant it. When he said he would end Obamacare he meant it...same for criminal charges for the Clinton’s and conservative SCOTUS appointments....etc. Something different is entering Washington January 20th. You think the left is freaked now just wait a few months!
Couldn’t agree more. Christie’s ousting assures me they’re on the right track.
Mike Rogers, one of the Benghazi traitors.
Seems to have worked out quite well.
Bring in the traitor, hang a big carrot (CIA boss) in front.
Map out and document everyone in the Traitors network.
Tell the traitor>”Thanks for your time, your fired”
Look for Trump to lift many 0bama era gag orders
“Really, the same media that claimed Hillary up by 12 and poised to win in a landside is now reporting xxxx”
My reply to every progressive for the next 12 months
I read Christie was trying to bring a bunch of Bush retreads on board. We need new blood.
