WASHINGTON—Another round of staff changes buffeted President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team Tuesday amid resistance from within the Republican Party over a top choice for secretary of state.
Vice President-elect Mike Pence formally signed documents that put him in charge of the transition team, and officials insisted the 10-week effort to build an administration is on schedule. In one of his first moves, Mr. Pence ordered the removal of all lobbyists from the transition team, said one transition team member with knowledge of the decisions.
Earlier Tuesday, former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers, once considered a candidate to lead the Central Intelligence Agency, was ousted from the Trump transition team’s national security unit. Matthew Freedman, who was leading the group’s planning for the White House National Security Council, also departed. Mr. Freedman didn’t return messages seeking comment.
Mr. Rogers was told he was being replaced because everyone who was brought in by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, the transition team’s original chairman, was being ousted, according to a person familiar with the conversation. Frank Gaffney, a Reagan administration veteran, was brought in to assist on national security issues, as has GOP U.S. Reps. Pete Hoekstra and Devin Nunes.

I had wondered about the state of the transition prep as soon as Christie was replaced with Pence.
Add in the reporting that they had to remove lobbyist, lends credence that Christie wasn’t doing his job as instructed.
It sounds to me like LOBBYISTS were trying to take control of picking the choices Trump must have gotten wind of it!!! Which means the congresscritters are STILL trying to have their way and override what Trump is trying to do!!! Trump spent a HELL of a lot of his own money to rid himself of LOBBYISTS he must have been furious to think they were going behind his back and involving LOBBYISTS !!!! I would LOVE to have been a fly on the wall when this was discovered by him!!!
According to the Butler, lying to Donald Trump is not one of the things you don’t ever do.
Maybe not lying, but is sounds like not following the same blueprint. Probably figuring he could persuade Trump that he needed these guys because of experience, etc. I like Christie but he was the head of the Republican Governors Association and is very much an “insider”. Trump may allow him to pursue other opportunities in order to stay true to his own vision and to Drain the Swamp.
Fox just confirmed that Trump threw out all the lobbyist brought in by Christy. There is more here than just the MSM trying to make look Team Trump unorganized.
My view is Trump entrusted Christie to handle this while he was busy winning an election, and was not a happy camper when he reviewed what Christie had gotten done.
I am extremely impressed that a change was done quickly, and removing all lobbyist from the transition team is a beautiful thing.
Still the best election ever. Rather like throwing out the money changers...kicking out the crooks.

Everytime Trump has made a staff change in his campaign, it worked out for the better. Same will happen with the changes to his transition team.
I’m still hopeful enough good people are in positions of influence that the Trump transition team will actually consist of those we dreamed about during the campaign.
He is a man of his word, I’m convinced of that.
Unfortunately for us, there are not that many uncompromised people for Trump to choose. So many in our government or who have government experience are corrupt.
Like Reagan did, Trump needs to bring in many people from the private sector and have them sacrifice for a few years as public servants for the sake of the country.

Maybe, but I thing BridgeGate had more to do with it. And it is fitting that VP Pence Elect has the job of heading the team doing the vetting.

We have not heard the last of Gov Christie. He and Trump are long-time friends. Christie has been loyal. He will be rewarded for his loyalty when the time is appropriate. And it will be done in such a way that it is to Trump's advantage.
yep...he was chairman of House Intelligence Committee - approved a report that concluded that the Obama administration had not intentionally misled the public about the events there.
Plus he was a Christie guy...
