Savage said he wanted to make it clear he was not turning on Trump.
Im not attacking Trump at all, he told WND. I am advising Trump to beware. Because, if he loses his base on the first day, whats going to happen in the first month?
This is a criticism of the establishment that is so all-powerful that theyve already entangled him, Savage explained.

Of course this had nothing with Trump not coming back on his show after the appearance fell through before the election.
Mike, unload the gun before you shoot off another toe.
OUR duty AS Americans is to NOT trust politicians.
It’s not MY opinion - the Founders chopped the entire government into three pieces and pitted them against each other for this exact reason.
WE support the Constitution. WE are defined by that support.
There are many who reject it, I’m not one of them. It’s the only “collective” to which I will belong.
Trump is a pragmatic and wants to get things done, Priebus is a good hire as far as showing he understands you have to do business with the established players in DC. What he does as far as actions is the only meaningful thing to watch, the press types hyperventilating over his picks and bemoaning every one of them is a given.
I take my orders from the Constitution.
I don’t speak for you.
While it feels good to just give the GOPe the finger and make them enemies, stringing them along, getting a glimpse of their workings and movements etc etc makes a lot more sense.
I would be more concerned about this except for the Bannon move. Perfect counterbalance.
RP is useful as a pawn.
Mike is like The Donald, in that both men require a lot of attention to feel fulfilled. Both need constant validation.
That said, Mike needs to take a chill pill for these first few weeks. Cool your jets!
Preibus and Trump are acting out his show “the apprentice” with Preibus as the apprentice.
Scorched Earth.
“Id rather have seen someone other than a close ally of Paul Ryan ...]
Therein lies your answer; Ryan knows his speakership is on the ropes. He can be a hero, or he can go home in disgrace. It’s his choice.
Priebus is there to help him choose. Friends that they are...
It’s not ‘advice’, it’s scrutiny. And every public official should be subject to it. Donald Trump is a man and a human being with all the faults that that implies. Just ssyin.
Obama’s Chief of Staffs were Rahm Emanuel, Pete Rouse, Bill Daley, Jack Lew and Denis McDonough.
Other than Rahm, who’s heard of any of these guys? Doesn’t seem like it’s that influential a position. And in Obama’s case, they don’t last very long. Reagan had 4 of them too. Including icons of American democracy like one Kenneth Duberstein.
Where is Trump going to find 4,000 people on his own? When a new owner or CEO takes over a company, they don’t immediately fire everyone and hire all new people. They work with what they have and have the ability to fire anyone who doesn’t adjust to their changes.
I love Savage, but after decades of tuning into his show (and even contributing to it’s content back in the day when he would still take faxes at his KSFO office and read tidbits from them in the air), I know him very well and could feel this coming even before the final election results and the days just after.
Here is how I see it since I could sense it as a fan.
Michael had been going on about how he is into astrology and numerology, and how this guy predicted that in 2016 Savage would personally save America - or at least have a major impact on the future of America and the world.
He wasn’t sure if this entailed leading a dynamic new religious revival of his view of religion - or - that he would be appointed by Trump to a major cabinet position in the Trump administration because he was sort of thinking Trump owes him after Savage had him on his show numerous times and, well, Savage sort of thinks the only reason Trump won was because of him.
So Savage was thinking Trump was going to personally call him up immediately after winning and offer him a position that would meld well with Savage’s self-identification with some sort of Italian-mafia Godfather thing albeit Jewish but more New York than Cleveland and that’s for sure.
But Trump didn’t call him, not even about the inauguration yet.
So he is pissed.
But I think Savage needs to be a bit less emotional about this and put a smile on and get with the victory and on with the show.
But my instinct is, he is probably now going to start his new church. Which probably isn’t a good idea.
Reibus could have walked on Trump when it was raining anvils on his head, but he didnt. That counts, and his actions made this happen.
Too Constitutional, perhaps. Def looks like a GOP-E deal has been done. Now it’s not going to be a wall, now a fence, deporting violent illegals, but others get what? Amnesty. Fine with “settledlaw” Obamas *exact* phrase in the subsidy battle. A trillion dollar stimulus? More kiddies without dads money via ivanka? Ididn’t support Trump because he has no Constitutional principals. Now he is going by the way of Jeb, good analogy. I am not surprised based on his personal and professional record. If he appoints a Scalia and legalizes national right to carry.. I guess that’s all we can hope for. He won’t be disarming the weaponized IRS and NOAA.. amnesty and stimulus, so far. And he isn’t overhauling the IRS or the Fed. Bummer.. a shining example of the uniparty. Actions over-rule rhetoric. Just as reasonable examination over-rules drooling bots.
I trust Donald’s judgment.
So do I. This is no time for any of us to get wobbly. Trump beat everyones ass every inch of the way. Outguessed even a lot of FReepers for a time. Chill pill time, Mike : )
